Today is the world day of reading lovers

Today all of us who make this portal possible, that is, both of you our readers that you follow us day by day like us, the writing, design and direction team of this blog, we are in luck. It is our day! As there is a day for almost everything, we could not miss one for those whose main or at least one of our favorite hobbies is reading.

We deserve a day because ...

  1. We are aware of editorial news that we like the most, especially when it comes to our favorite writers.
  2. We celebrate with great joy a continuation of our favorite literary saga or a new book by that author that makes us "drink" books as if there were no tomorrow.
  3. They say that we are few, that there are fewer and fewer people who read ... And we want to believe that it is a lie, and we attribute that little reading by others to a lack of motivation or to the fact that books are sometimes too expensive ... But, and the Libraries? Definitely, they have no excuses ... You have to read more and better.
  4. We enjoy as children in the typical Book Fair… In fact, some of us save for that date: at least two new copies and as for the maximum number of books we can buy… Sorry, but there aren't any.
  5. With only pick up the book, feel it, admire its cover, read its back cover, We already enjoyed! We are like little children in new shoes.
  6. New stories fill us, they make us travel to other times, to other cities, real or fantastic,… We discover new worlds, new perspectives, new realities.
  7. We share the hobby of reading with others who also have it: exchanging ideas, sharing reading moments, sharing books, etc.
  8. We celebrate that there are still television networks that bet on the literature. And although we believe that today it is not given all the value it deserves, it is to be appreciated that television spaces are still transferred to it, even if they are small.

For these and many more reasons, HAPPY WORLD READING LOVERS DAY!

Today is a very special day because I have read the SELECT WORK by JOSÉ MANUEL ARANGO, a Colombian poet born in 1937 and died at the age of 64, in 2002 in Medellín, where he was a professor of Philosophy at the University of Antioquia. His poetic work is in five books: This place of the night, Signs, Cantiga, Mountains and his posthumous The No-Man's Land of the Dream. He was a brilliant translator of American poets. He received important distinctions.
To friends of reading and especially those who like poetry, he introduced this wonderful poet. Some of his poems are accessed on the Internet. Those who want to know more, write to corporacion.cultural.eltaller@gmail.com

    CAUTION
    Jose Manuel Arango

Why celebrate being a book and reading lover for just one day?

I am a lover of books and reading; we are like the horse of the savannah, «… it has no time or date on the calendar».

    Greetings from Veracruz, Ver.
