The García Lorca family asks that the poet not be sought

Laura García Lorca, niece of the poet

As you probably know, the Granada poet Federico Garcia Lorca, was persecuted by Francoists for his sexual condition and for his political ideology (he was a republican), until he had an expected and tragic end: he was assassinated. The body still remains unknown today since it was buried in a mass grave, but it is known that it could be in the town Big Fountain, in Alfacar.

The normal thing would be, as has happened with other artists, that the family wanted to find the body to bury it in a private grave and pay tribute to it. However, in this case, the García Lorca family asks that the poet not be sought. Laura García Lorca, Federico's niece and current president of the Foundation dedicated to the poet, has commented that her family has "never" prevented the search for the remains of those shot in the Civil War and Francoism in mass graves, but has also insisted that your right not to search for your uncle's remains is also respected.

His specific words have been the following: "We defend this right because it seems fundamental to us that whoever wants to search for their relative can do so, but we are not looking for ours, nor does anyone have the right to search for them.

All this news has come out as a result of Javier Navarro Chueca, archaeologist and president of the association Return with Honor, has led to the search for other Republican militants who were also shot and buried in the same area where the body of the poet would be. Javier Navarro Chueca has commented that "The position of the Lorca is very respectable, but they also have to respect the will of other families to search for their victims."

In short, although the reaction of the García Lorca family is not understood or is not as expected, it is as respectable or more as the other position that does wish to find the bodies of other deceased at that time. Single word: Respect.

Well then they did not want it much to say.

Of course they have that right. But this matter is somewhat more complex (like Lorca's literature), because in reality the order of that search is for someone else, I think for the republican teacher Dióscoro Galindo because his family has requested it. And if human remains are found, it is necessary to notify the corresponding court and try to identify those remains and find out why they are buried there and investigate the cause of the deaths. (something we all know):
For the criminal action of the Franco regime.

SOME ARE STILL IN THE CIVIL WAR, WE HAVE TO LEAVE THE DEAD TO REST ENOUGH ALREADY FROM REVENGES WHICH PUNISHES AFTER 80 YEARS OF THE WAR AND SO MANY OTHERS AFTER FRANCO'S DEATH

The families that want to find their dead have every right ... What is not right is to politicize historical memory to get a handful of votes and cover themselves with false excavations
