Books to be happier

Books to be happier

Surely a priori, as soon as you read the title of this article, you have thought that another article is worth more in which they advise and recommend certain books of the self-help genre that at the moment of truth are useless. You were wrong! I am the first to run away from these types of books, so I would never recommend anything that I did not read myself, I am not a hypocrite or a motorcycle dealer.

What I do recommend are these three books to be happier, or at least, it is the end they seem to be pursuing ... They are not the "do this to be better" type, but thanks to the changes and ways of life that their characters lead in the story that it tells us, you realize that a It is better waiting for you and that it is you who has to go for it.

I have read two of them and I am looking forward to having the third one because the reviews I have read of it are really good. If you want to be a little happier reading these books, here is the summary and / or synopsis of each of them.

"The monk who sold his ferrari" by Robin S. Sharma

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is the suggestive and moving story of Julian Mantle, a successful lawyer whose stressful, unbalanced, and money-obsessed life ends up giving him a heart attack. This disaster provokes in Julian a spiritual crisis that leads him to face the great issues of life. Hoping to discover the secrets of happiness and enlightenment, set out on an extraordinary journey through the Himalayas to learn about an ancient culture of wise men. And there he discovers a more joyful way of life, as well as a method that allows him to unleash his full potential and live with passion, determination and peace. Written like a fable, this book contains a series of simple and effective lessons to improve the way we live. Vigorous fusion of the spiritual wisdom of the East with the principles of Western success, it shows step by step how to live with more courage, joy, balance and satisfaction.

I read it in two bands together with my partner and it is true that it opened up new perspectives and ways of not only living life but also facing it, which is sometimes the most difficult thing. It can be read in a few days and it hooks a lot.

"Siddhartha" by Hermann Hesse

Undoubtedly, one of my favorite books and of which I have already taken a couple of readings. Highly recommended for those who are still wondering the aims and objectives of living the life that they give us ...

The novel set in traditional India, recounts the life of Siddhartha, a man for whom the path of truth passes through renunciation and the understanding of the unity that underlies all that exists. In its pages, the author offers all the spiritual options of man. Herman Hesse dived into the soul of the Orient in order to bring its positive aspects to our society. Siddhartha is the most representative work of this process and has had a great influence on Western culture in the XNUMXth century.

«A new happiness» by Curro Cañete

A journey of no return. A reunion with the past. An extensive and rigorous journalistic investigation on happiness. A story of first love, first pain. "A new happiness" It is not just a book about the importance of being brave in life, living without masks and finding yourself. Based on real events, is the story of an extraordinary journey towards love and freedom.

"What would happen if instead of talking about happiness we did everything possible to be happy?" Asks Curro, the protagonist of this story, a young journalist in crisis whose life takes a turn when, on his birthday, he lands in Playa Blanca, in Lanzarote, where he has decided to retire for some time, take a break, and start writing his first novel. But the last thing he imagines is that this summer will become a vital turning point, seeing himself surrounded by people whom he did not know before, and living unusual situations that will change the course of his days forever.
He will be reunited with his brother who died fifteen years ago, upon accidentally discovering a poetry written by him lost in his suitcase, and with him he will begin a path in which coincidences will shine like stars and in which the fear that had trapped him will give way. step to courage that will help you to live your own life for the first time.

I am looking forward to having it in my power to "taste" it slowly.

Have you read any of them? Do you agree with me when I say that they are books to be happier? Which one or more would you recommend us? Happy weekend!
