The poet and playwright from Vigo David Fernandez Rivera just released the book-disc "Fractal" through the Madrid firm Amargord Editions.
With this anthology, Rivera decides, for the first time, and after more than fifteen years creating uninterruptedly, to take a break to look back. And it is that «Fractal » It is an anthology of the period between 2009 and 2015, a stage in which the writer published a trilogy consisting of Barbed wire (2009) Sahara (2011) and Agate (2014). In addition, this project incorporates some unpublished poems from the cycle, along with a disco in which the author reinterprets some of the most representative poems of this period.
This book-disc presents a clear division between two different stages within the same creative cycle. The poems belonging to Barbed wire and Sahara show an author who raises his poetry on such diverse topics as slavery in the XNUMXst century, school, alienation, the breakdown of human beings with nature and with their own identity, etc. However, in the most recent creations, that is, in those corresponding to Agate, DFR moves away from the author's perspective to create from the reader's perspective, seeking to make him grow from his own freedom.
Finally, the disco fully complete the understanding of this stage. From a very young age, David Fernández Rivera has believed in the need to build alternative formats to make poetry live. And specifically, between 2009 and 2015, Rivera sought to share his poetry on stage, and especially, through sound and interpretation, hence the importance of this disco to understand Rivera's work throughout these years.
