Synopsis of Everything burns

The people who lose everything are the most dangerous

This novel tells the story of three very different women, whoDue to a series of circumstances, they end up working together to get revenge of those people responsible for the traumas they have had to go through.

Gómez Jurado's pen encourages the following to meet at one point: a famous executive of a high socioeconomic level, with a cruelly murdered husband and a delicate labor conflict; an alcoholic ex-legionnaire who survives in his car with barely 1000 euros, and a super smart hacker you just broke up with your partner.

The three of them carry a heavy backpack of emotional, psychological and economic problems, they have lost everything, and they feel lost themselves. However, everything changes when, almost by chance, They come together to forge a master plan that allows them to achieve their long-awaited claim.

The author meticulously assigned the trades, so that each of the protagonists has the right weight in the plot and their precise participation. This thoroughness makes Everything burns a chess board where justice is taken by force concisely.

Main characters

In digital media, a concept called “character novel” has begun to form. In this, more than the setting or the conflict, the author's focus is located on the experiences, evolution, feelings and journey of the various characters that make up a work.

En Everything burns —as in Red Queen, with which it shares the universe—, the strong point are the three protagonists, whom Juan Gómez Jurado endows with such depth and realism that they could all exist outside of paper.

Aura Reyes

Aura Reyes used to be a woman of the world: professionally successful, with a happy marriage and perfect children. However, All of that changes when her husband is murdered. From then on, the society in which she lives makes her a person capable of committing the most reckless actions. Aura becomes someone brave, strong and fierce, but the author never takes her to the extreme, and she never loses her composure.

Mari peace

Mari Paz may be the most particular protagonist on the list. This is a former legionnaire whose days of greatness are in the past. He has a significant lack of affection and a sweet heart under a hard and listless shell. Between her and Aura, that kind of friendship emerges that brings people out of the darkness, and it is this same bond that, in the end, complements and saves them both.

greenhouses

Of the three main characters, Sere He is the one who has less prominence throughout the novel, since his presentation occurs very late in the work.. Even so, he doesn't stop making a good threesome with Aura and Mari Paz. This protagonist is drawn with shades, lights and shadows.

She comes to betray her friends, due to ignorance or coercion. However, once he discovers the type of work he is being asked to do, he resigns and helps the two women who have shown such loyalty to him.

Rosemary

Commissioner Romero is the villain of Everything burns. She is the one responsible for putting Aura in trouble, and for making Sere betray her friends. However, not much is known about his past or his motivations for being so fiercely against the protagonists.

A novel about everyday life

This book by Juan Gómez Jurado it's more than a thriller. In Everything burns se addresses the day-to-day of the characters through a very current look. In the novel there are scenes built through black humor and satire, such as when two workers are distracted by a soccer game instead of paying attention to their work.

The aforementioned turns the text into something more realistic and closer to the readers, occasionally giving them a nod to popular culture.
