E-book vs Paper book

E-book vs Paper book

Years ago, with the appearance of the electronic bookThose of us who were "more traditional" readers and valued reading a book with its corresponding "physical contact" put our hands on our heads. There were many theories and almost all of them assured, or rather, badly augured the disappearance of the paper book in a progressive and resounding way.

Fortunately, it did not happen that way and he does not have "clear" signs that this will happen in the future. It is true that having an electronic book loaded with dozens of books makes life much easier, especially everything related to space, but this does not mean that we can and want to have certain more important books or that we especially like, in paper format.

I know in good ink, never better said, that there are still faithful and loyal to the paper who flatly refuse to get hold of an electronic book. As I know, there are readers so "technological" and practical, that since they bought or gave their eBook (only in Dutch at the moment), the remote idea of buying a paper book again does not occur to them. Well, today's article is aimed at both types of people: «Electronic book vs Paper book».

Next, we are going to review some of the pros and cons of each of these formats ... We hope to convince many of the good idea to alternate both reading formats.

  3. They can get us out of the room they are in by lack of space. There are those who have very little physical space to put books so this can be a big problem in the long run if you are buying a lot of paper books.

Pros and cons of the e-book

Pros

  1. The main advantage of e-books over paper books is that do not take up space, only MB. So they do not collect dust and you do not have to clean them every little bit, you do not have to worry too much when it comes to what method do I organize them on the shelves, etc.

  7. You can have your ebook immediately, without waiting and with just two or three clicks. You don't have to wait to go to the bookstore or library.

Cons

  2. Some e-books they have very high prices (some even more than many paper books).
  3. It is not for everyone, since requires a basic or minimal knowledge of technology (not suitable for older people who do not know anything about technology).
  4. Es very easy to hack them, for what it supposes a great economic loss for its authors.
  5. After centuries of reading on paper, we have not gotten used to not being able to touch the pages or to smell their characteristic aroma.

Needless to say, I prefer printed books, but I am not closed to the possibility of reading in pdf. The advantage of a non-printed book is that it even fits in a pocket, and paper ones sometimes don't fit in a purse. But do not be uncompromising and better experiment with both formats.

      Hello Ruth.
I agree with what you say. I prefer paper books and maybe that's why it took me a while to start reading on an e-book reader. However, I do not close myself to reading in digital format. It's okay to experiment with both ways of reading.

Another disadvantage, (of the electronic book in this case), digital devices in the long run harm the eyes more than a traditional book with correct lighting.
