The protagonists
Throughout its more than three hundred pages, two stories appear in parallel. On one side is the aforementioned Luna, a girl confined in a hospital due to a terminal illness. For this reason, the little girl —despite her young age— is familiar with death, because every day someone dies in that place. In addition, the girl is an orphan and misses her mother very much.
Apart from the situations mentioned, Luna is a little different for many reasons. Among his most striking qualities is that he speaks ten languages and plays the piano very well.
The other protagonist of the book is a woman who has gone on a trip to Poland to look for a person, although, he does not know who. Either way, she walks through parks, cafes, schools and specific streets.
Development Reflections
Woman in Poland is followed by someone unknown (It is not known if he is a good person or with dubious intentions). As the narrative progresses, Luna leaves several questions and thoughts in the reader's mind.. Why do humans tend to better understand the importance of living fully when they are most vulnerable in the first place?
In this sense, the caviles of the book invite you to take advantage of every second with your loved ones and to do what allows you to enjoy life. In this point, Moreno emphasizes —through a pure and innocent protagonist— the need (and satisfaction) of giving and receiving love.. In that context, there is no room for regrets or wasting time with selfish attitudes.
