Curated AI, the first magazine written entirely by machines

Robotic arms pointing to a planet

Artificial intelligence is a concept that manages to capture the attention of many and that is why it is advancing to gradually introduce itself into our day to day. Today already there are artificial intelligences dedicated to trying to imitate, in a more or less perfect way, human writing.

Machines in journalism

In journalism you can find many machines that report different data that do not suppose a great imagination because, as I have commented previously, we are talking about machines that work by themselves and it is still a field that is expanding. In this way, machines can be found doing jobs like bag reports or informative results and there are even pages dedicated to comparing the writing of humans with the writing of robots, the results being very interesting.

Curated AI, the robot magazine for people

Seeing how this artificial intelligence is advancing in the field of writing, it is not difficult to accept the arrival of the first literary magazine written entirely by robots with artificial intelligence. This journal is Curated AI.

Although the sayings are usually "from people to people" the motto of the magazine has opted for something more current, something like "A magazine written by machines, for people". This magazine aims to offer the public a selection of narrative and poetry with which aims to challenge the concept that humans have of artificial writing or robotics. The person in charge of this project is Karmel Alison, who combines software development and literature.

“Reading is more in the reader than in the writer, obviously. You can talk about what the creator has studied or how he works, but not about the creator's purpose - maybe the intention of the author of the algorithm, anyway, but it is a step that has been removed, which makes it more amusing in the eyes of the reader. "

Capable of handling more words than Shakespeare

Some of the robots with artificial intelligence that they publish in the magazine they are able to handle more than 190.000 words to create their phrases, an idea that draws attention if we take into account the number of words that are usually used. To make a comparison we can choose Shakespeare, who used 33.000 in his plays. These artificial intelligences may not be capable of creating works like Shakespeare's, but for now they already have a greater number of words to create their compositions.

A curiosity about the creation of these machines is that they are programmed on the basis of a famous writer. With this type of programming it is not difficult to assume that in the future we may find substitutes for authors already dead that they are able to create works like the ones he created when he was alive. It is a bit creepy but also extremely curious.

They seek collaborations to create algorithms

On the other hand, if in addition to liking literature you are also passionate about this world and are capable of creating algorithms and neural networks of this style, I inform you that in Curated AI are open to new collaborations. For those of you who prefer to stay with literature, do not miss out on this magazine and this type of literature that, although it does not seem very mature yet, will mean a future that is beginning to be seen.

This news has left me almost speechless because of how fast technology advances and the truth is that I am quite a technologist and I find this type of progress curious but, as with all great technological advances, it makes me think about what will happen to real literature. I suppose this will cause only books by great human authors to be published and the rest will be overshadowed by the stories of the machines.

Now it's your turn to speak. What do you think of this new way of writing? Would you like to find new works by your favorite dead authors? Do you think that in the future we can differentiate what is written by a machine and what is written by a human author?

The machines could generate artificial intelligence but it is still the man with his natural intelligence that generates all this and it is the really shocking thing that you generate.

Very good article based on the book of the Bible specifically in Daniel, 12; science will increase writing by means of a logical> literary algorithm is not too far away

We marvel at how artificial intelligence advances by leaps and bounds, but the thought that human beings will be overshadowed by their own creation scares us.
