The 3 books that I would give myself for Book Day

Surely you are tired of reading out there that tomorrow day April 23 It is the Day of the Book. We, a literary blog, we were not going to be less so here is for now my article recalling this fact. Leaving the jokes aside, on other occasions we have recommended lists of books that you could give away for your acquaintances, family, friends, however, this time we've gotten a little more selfish I have become a little more selfish and have thought only of myself. That is why I present you the 3 books that I would give myself for Book Day. Because loving and giving yourself to yourself is also important ...

Before continuing I have to say that you do not have to like them, they are the ones that right now, among others, I have on my «wish list» and that I am looking forward to having in my possession as soon as I go to the Book Fair in my city.

«Women who run with the wolves» (Clarissa Pinkola Estés)

This book has been published in Zeta Bolsillo since 2009 but its initial publication date is 1992. Although it is a book with many years, I have known it relatively recently. It was reading his synopsis and I knew I had to have it with me. As I have read in user reviews and ratings who have already read it, it is a book that both women and men like, although I cannot give my assessment on this yet ... I also say that it is very well rated. I leave you with its synopsis. I hope you have that "literary crush" that I felt.

Synopsis

Within every woman she encourages a secret life, a powerful force full of good instincts, creativity and wisdom. She is the Wild Woman, an endangered species due to the constant efforts of society to civilize women and constrain them to rigid roles that nullify their instinctual essence. In this book, the author reveals rich cross-cultural myths, fairy tales and stories to help women regain their strength and health, visionary attributes of this instinctive essence.

"The ballad of water" (José Luis Sampedro)

This fable was written by the unfortunately deceased José Luis Sampedro in the year 2008 connection with the Zaragoza International Dog Show, and I have little to say about why I want to read it. Who wouldn't want to read something from a person saying phrases like this? "To destroy the world we live in is to destroy the house we live in." Nothing or little more to add.

Synopsis

In this work, the four elements meet and discuss the future of Humanity. What began as an informative essay project suitable for teachers and educators, became poetry, a "ballad" as its name suggests after a trip the writer made to Andalusia.

"Jude the Dark" by Thomas Hardy

I haven't read much of Thomas Hardy but what little I have had of him has made me want to read more and more about his work. I want to read this book because I understand that it was one of the first books of its time that dared to speak without taboos and conceals of sex, marriage and religion, radically eliminating the confusion and darkness that revolved around this issue at the time. Have you read it? What can you tell me about this work?

Synopsis

In the adventures of Jude Fawley (abandonment of his wife, forced resignation to pursue university studies, illicit, tortuous and vagrant relationship that he undertakes with his cousin Sue), Thomas Hardy wanted to base “a tragic fable” with the purpose of “showing that, as Diderot says, civil law should only be the statement of a natural law ”. However, this personal illustration of the conflict between law and instinct was received with such fury and scandal by his contemporaries that a bishop even publicly burned it.
