Ann Cleeves is an acclaimed British writer, best known for her fast-paced crime fiction, such as the saga Vera Stanhope —adapted to the small screen in series format by ITV—. Throughout her literary career she has stood out in the media with a variety of works that have been read worldwide.
The author has been nominated for multiple awards, having won several of them, such as the Duncan Lawrie Dagger, obtained thanks to her book Raven black (2006) He also received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Sunderland in 2014.. Biography
Ann Cleeves was born in 1959, in Hertfordshire, north of Devon, England. She did her high school studies at Barnstaple Grammar School. Subsequently, He attended the chair of English at the University of Sussex, which he left to be able to work. Throughout her life she worked in many sectors of the economy: cook at the Fair Isle bird observatory, parole officer, auxiliary coast guard and library outreach worker.
