Awarded at the 2014 Barcelona Manga Fair.
The Barcelona Manga Fair grants awards to recognize the best manga and anime works published in Spain between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014. The voting mechanism for the awards is open to everyone at through the FICOMIC website. The voting period took place between September 22 and October 15. These awards do not have an economic endowment.
The winners of the prizes of the XX Salón del Manga de Barcelona, which this year have been delivered at the Palace 2 of Fira Montjuïc, are the following:

This manga artist and character designer won the 1985 Tezuka Award with the story 500 Kounen no shinwa, which allowed him to dedicate himself professionally to the world of manga. In 1989 he began his collaboration with the magazine Shonen Jump with the manga Nonno Cyborg G. His fame did not stop increasing while he continued combining his work as a mangaka with his facet of designer: from 1998 to 2003 he triumphed with Hikaru no Go, a scripted manga by Yumi Hotta set in the world of go, a traditional Japanese game. But its popularity reaches incredible heights with Death Note, an atypical shonen scripted by Tsugumi Obha that from 2003 to 2006 kept Shonen Jump readers on edge. It is in the pages of that same magazine where, and again with a script by Tsugumi Obha, he returns in style with BAKUMAN., A work set in the world of professional manga whose 20 volumes were published from 2008 to 2012. The winning fanzine of this year's edition is the work of the Déjà Blue collective, a circle of artists, screenwriters and collaborators whose purpose is to publish homoerotic-themed fancomics.
