The snow girl it is not a recent book. In fact, it came out in 2020 and became a best-seller, just like the author's previous books. Although it was already well known and acclaimed, the book is even more so for its recent adaptation to a series on Netflix, which again bets on Spanish authors for their Spanish series.

Who wrote The Snow Girl?
If we have to point to a 'culprit' that The Snow Girl appeared in bookstores in 2020 then that is Javier Castillo. He is a consecrated writer, since this novel is not the first, but the fourth. His first novels, "The day that sanity was lost" and "The day that love was lost", catapulted him to success and since then he has been succeeding with each of the novels he has released.
But who is Javier Castillo? This writer was born in Malaga in 1987. His first novel was written while traveling by train to and from his job (as a financial advisor) to his home. Once finished, and thinking that his novel was much better than those that were published, he decided to write to the publishers to try his luck. However, they rejected it, and he decided to self-publish himself. Hence, when he began to succeed (and we are talking about selling more than a thousand books a day on Amazon), publishers began knocking on his door.
So much so that he was able to say goodbye to his job as a financial advisor to spend all his time writing new novels, knowing that success was with him, as has been the case.
What is The Snow Girl about?
The Snow Girl has as its main plot a event that occurs in 1998 and that makes the idyllic life of parents completely change. When the couple's 3-year-old daughter disappears without a trace, everyone is lost, not knowing where to look or how to help parents who don't get an answer about where their daughter is.
Unlike the other novels, in this Castle it does show how the feelings of those people involved are, what they suffer and how they are emotionally, something that, in previous books, was not so glimpsed.

What genre is The Snow Girl?
The Snow Girl, like many of Javier Castillo's books, It is within the genre of suspense. Keep in mind that it is about unveiling a mystery, and that is why the author uses two timelines that he intersperses.
This way of writing is risky and many readers who embark for the first time can be overwhelmed because at any given moment you do not know if you are in the present, in the past. But that's only at the beginning, when you still don't know the characters; then things change and those twists in the plot not only help you understand why the protagonists are like this, but you also immediately realize the timeline that is followed (and there is mystery in both).
Is there a continuation of the book?
Javier Castillo is an author who tends to intertwine his books, or to make continuations of them. It happened to him with "The day that madness was lost", which envisioned it as two books, and after the success of the first, he did not hesitate to get down to work to get the second part. But what about The Snow Girl? Is there a second part?
Well, the author himself answered this question from his readers, settling the issue. And it is that, unlike with other books, this one in particular was not going to be part of any saga, so we are talking about a book with a beginning and an end, without more. Of course, among its pages we can find characters that, if you have read the previous works, will sound quite familiar to you. So, in a way, it's a continuation, with other characters, of the author's previous novels.
Are there accommodations?
We have to warn you that, as with many other books, The Snow Girl is also going to be adapted to a real image. Specifically, it has been Netflix who has been interested to get the rights and record a series.
Until now, not much more is known about this new series, but the news came out in April 2021 and considering that Netflix is quite fast when making decisions, the safest thing is that perhaps by 2022 or 2023 we can be watching it.
In addition, the author is very happy because The Snow Girl is not the only adaptation of his novels. Also, in this case, through Globomedia and DeAPlaneta, they are working on a series that will encompass the author's first two novels: "The day that madness was lost" and "The day that love was lost."
