The story of the Corleones does not end or begin in "The Godfather"

Whether you are a movie fan or not, You cannot miss the book of «The Godfather». Those of you who have read it will give me the reason that, after reading it, you feel a spectacular attraction for the plot and its characters.

It is without a doubt one of the best novels that I have read despite the fact that the context in which the plot revolves had never been of interest to me. Even the films based on the novel did not appeal to me in excess despite, everything is said, to recognize their extraordinary value within the cinematographic world.

In fact, throughout my life, the book went unnoticed on the shelf in my house without anyone taking the slightest interest in it. Its owner, my grandfather, never read it and after his death, as with so many other novels, he ended up falling into my home waiting for an opportunity.

Opportunity that came relatively recently realizing  of the wonderful literary style and witty plot that Mario Puzzo  presents us with this work. It is one of those cases that, in my opinion, the book far exceeds the movie. Without any qualms, I would ask all those who declare themselves lovers of this theme, that they cannot affirm this hobby if they have not had the pages of "The Godfather" in their hands at some time.

With all that, I would like to present another book that, based on the story created by puzzo, expands the plot and shows us the evolution of some characters from the original novel. Movies too, I must admit, do this by helping to broaden the world of Corleone. Something that, logically, is much better known.

Anyway, the work created by Ed falco titled “The Corleone Family” presents us with a totally new story that is key to understanding the role that its protagonists have in “The Godfather”.

On this occasion, the main axis of the novel is Sonny corleone, eldest son of the clan. Based on this, the plot revolves around how he gets involved in his father's businesses from a very young age, finally becoming a key piece within the family's mobster organization chart.

Therefore, the novel takes us to some 20 or 30 years before the original story. To a time when Corleone They still do not present the hierarchical position that they will later have or the respect among the other families. It is precisely Ed falco who, following methodically and exquisitely the style of puzzo, explains how it rises Don Vito, capo of the family and father of Sonny, to the pinnacle of the New York criminal groups of the 30s and 40s.

"The Godfather", in this way, continues his plot with this work. Offering readers much more information and addressing topics that had simply been quoted to us before. With «The family Corleone»We have the opportunity to delve into these fringes of the plot since, on this occasion, they are explained with hairs and signs. Thus increasing the fanaticism that many of us process through this story.

Finally, I would like to emphasize that "The family Corleone”Is not the only book that, without being written by Mario Puzzo, expands the story of the most popular mafia and fictional family. There are other works that also do it by reserving for me, if you will allow me, their presentation in subsequent entries.
