Rumore Rumore: Arrow, Sin City, Kick Ass 2 and Dredd

We started this batch of rumors and confirmed news around film and television projects more or less related to the world of comics with Arrow , That television series which was in the preparation phase by the CW. Well, it seems that after watching the pilot episode the chain has decided to buy and is already announcing its launch with a synopsis included:

“After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen had disappeared and was presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to the town of Starling, his devoted mother Moira, his much loved sister Thea, and his best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they feel that Oliver has changed after his ordeal on the island. Meanwhile, Oliver hides the truth about the man he has become. He wants to do desperately make amends for the actions of your past. More particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his ex-girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the character of Arrow - a vigilante - to correct the mistakes of his family, fight the evils of society, and restore the former glory of the Starling town. During the day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless womanizer just as he used to be - flanked by his devotee chauffeur and bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully hiding his secret identity at night. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to stop the vigilantes from their city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows a lot more about the deadly shipwreck than meets the eye - and it's more cruel than she could ever imagine.

He honestly pulls back like a cheap pastiche between Batman and Green Hornet. From Green Arrow I can only distinguish the name and the bow. I hope I'm wrong but right now I wouldn't give you a vote of confidence.

We continue with Sin City, that after years of speculation about the sequel to the pestiño that was marked in 2005 the director Robert Rodriguez, it seems that he has managed to raise said continuation under the name of Give Me To Kill For, Or what is the same I would kill for her, if they are faithful to the name of the second volume of the great work of Frank Miller. For those who do not know, on this occasion the protagonism (at least in the comic) falls on the character of Dwight, which in the first part interpreted Clive Owen. The funny thing is that in Imdb His participation is not confirmed and that of Mickey Rourke like the deceased Marv.

We continue with sequels. This time that of the successful Kick Ass, which you can see (oddly enough) recently and the truth is that I liked it more than I expected. Kick Ass 2 will feature the production of Matthew Vaughn, the brilliant director who produced the film along with Mark Millar when few gave a penny for adaptation. But the bad news is that he gives up the clutter of directing a certain jeff wadlow who has to his credit «jewelry»From the likes of Cry Wolf and Breaking the Rules. After the fans' laughter, expressed in complaints about the election of the new director, Millar himself said the following:

«Vaughn is the hardest judge me I have known. He is a man strict no shit. Me said he had cast my eye on Jeff desde hace eighteen months. He knows what he is doing. Su historial Speak for itself. Y the script es fantastic. I'm very, very happy".

I have nothing but doubts considering the statements that have been made over the Millar years. If to that we add that one of the main hooks, if not the main one, which is the performance of Chloë Grace Moretz as Hit-girl, is still on the air, I would not bet a lot of money that it will repeat success, not at the box office, much less critically.

And I end up with another project of cinema that is not to shoot rockets a priori. Anyway, I hope that it will finally surprise and become a movie that, without costing a million, at least entertains and is faithful to the work of John wagner y Carlos Ezquerra. I mean of course Dredd, Pete Travis, and that will have Karl Urban (pictured above) as Dredd, and with the gorgeous Lena haeady as Madeline "Ma-Ma" Madrigal. If you want to see a photo of how Heady will appear characterized, click on the following link and you will be surprised I think.

Vaughn is the toughest judge I have ever met. He's a strictly no bullshit guy. He told me he had his eye on Jeff for this eighteen months back. He knows what he's doing. His track record speaks for itself. And the script is seven shades of fantastic. I'm very, very happy.
