Interview

Actualidad Literatura: Do you remember the first book you read? And the first story you wrote?

Carlos Dosel: I remember it very well. I borrowed it from the school library. It was a book that he was talking about santa claus. I don't exactly remember the title, but I remember that it gave me a very emotional feeling with the things that this white-bearded character did.

AL: What was the first book that struck you and why?

CD: It was a book that a friend left me. It was that of Dial, Michael crichton. At the time I was very fond of science fiction until I met Mr. Conan Doyle.

AL: Who is your favorite writer? You can choose more than one and from all eras.

CD: In addition to Conan Doyle I could name you Ruiz Zafon, Julia Navarro, Dan Brown, and Vazquez Montalban., for giving you some examples of great writers that have inspired me.

AL: What character in a book would you have liked to meet and create?

DC: A Sherlock Holmes, without a doubt.

AL: Any mania when it comes to writing or reading?

CD: I like to write with a good point of light light up my keyboard and a good cup of just coffee, even though I shouldn't even smell it.

AL: And your preferred place and time to do it?

CD: I like nights. The silence of the night and, if possible, a good detective movie soundtrack or mystery, in the background. The place, my office, riding a my table where I have everything I need to write.

AL: What writer or book has influenced your work as an author?

CD: I confess that the narrative of Ruiz Zafon It has influenced me a lot. Although my narrative is original, I have to say that I really like Zafón's descriptions and the influence he has had on me.

AL: Your favorite genres?

CD: That question is easy: black and horror.

AL: What are you reading now? And writing?

CD: I'm finishing reading Preston and Child, by Detective Vincent D'agosta, entitled The Blue Labyrinth, a typical American detective novel.

Now I find myself organizing my third book, also with the inspector Manzano, in another new case where the CNIa Masonic Lodge and a analepsis Mysterious based on the life of a married couple during the civil war.

AL: How do you think the publishing scene is for as many authors as there are or want to publish?

CD: Well, let's see, I've always said that in the end those who deserve it come. And I'm not saying that I deserve it far from it, only that, if you really like to write, you will reach the goal and you will stay. If not, then you will stay on the road as it will have happened to others. This is one long-distance race where only the one who really has the wood and soul of a writer can compete and achieve success.

AL: Is the moment of crisis that we are experiencing being difficult for you or will you get something positive out of it for future stories?

CD: I take this opportunity to write the aforementioned and, in addition, some chronicles of a certain Juani you have to survive a catastrophic world produced by a virus malicious.
