Hogarth Shakespeare Project. Great authors covering Shakespeare's works

El Hogarth Shakespeare project started with the aim of rewrite Shakespeare's literature for the public of the XXI century. It was part of the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of his death in 2016. Those responsible knocked on the doors of renowned writers to propose to participate in a review of his most fundamental works.

The result began to be seen from 2015 and will last until 2021. Those authors were Margaret Atwood (The Tempest), Howard Jacobson (The merchant of Venice), Anne tyler (The Taming of the Shrew), Tracy chevalier (Othello), Jeanette Winterson (Winter's Tale), Gillian flynn (Hamlet) Y Edward St Aubyn (The Lear King) Y Jo Nesbø (Macbeth). This is a glimpse of what is already readable and yet to be published.

Hogarth Press

Virginia Wolf and her husband Leonard they founded the publishing house Hogarth Press en 1917 in their living room where they also printed. The house was Hogarth house and it was located in Richmond, London. The first works were his own, but the business grew and they began to publish works from the circle of intellectuals of Bloomsbury, of which they were part.

The author offers her vision of The Taming of the Shrew in this Vinegar heart. At the same time, it takes advantage to address two contemporary problems: the situation of the immigrant and the emancipation of women.

The protagonist is Kate battista, a woman apparently very sure of herself, but who is not so sure. The why is an eccentric family that he has to take care of, with a scientist father and a teenage sister and whimsical. In addition, in the kindergarten where he works things are not going well either. The children adore her, but her parents do not appreciate Kate's extreme sincerity in her opinions.
