Goodreads

Surely many of you have heard of Facebook or Twitter, even some of Instagram. By now many of us have a profile on those social networks, but In any literary social network? The truth is that they exist many social networks whose central theme is Literature, some in Spanish, some in English, but of course the most famous of them is Goodreads.

Goodreads is a literary social network that was born like this in 2006 and in 2013 it was bought by Amazon. Since then, Goodreads is not only a social network but a literary showcase where we can buy the books we want through Amazon. But despite this commercial purpose, Goodreads has managed to remain as a great site where to find reviews and opinions on books and editorial titles.

Recently Goodreads has reported that it has achieved reach 50 million literary reviews, something that indicates the preeminence of the literary social network over the rest of the social networks. Goodreads also has an app which makes it possible for us to consult the titles as well as our literary profile from the mobile phone or from any tablet or eReader. An interesting feature for those who usually read through these devices.

However one of the most important functions of Goodreads are your book lists, a function that offers users to create lists of books that we have read, that we would like to read, that we want to give away or simply a list of books that serves as an annual challenge to encourage reading. Of course, this function is the one that has attracted the most attention to many and more at the beginning of the year where many incorporate books as a New Year's resolution, something that sometimes does not finish being fulfilled. In any case, if you want to know what your friends read or simply look for literary recommendations, Goodreads is a good option. What do you think?

I am discharged and I have been involved at some point but I don't see it as very interesting because almost all the books I read are in Spanish and normally I don't see any on the lists or in the recommendations. It would be better if you were discriminated against by countries like Facebook.

If you follow your friends, you will be able to see their books, those that they want to read and those that are reading and you create a community around you with people of the same interests and who read in the same language as you.

Don't just look at the general recommendation system. The most interesting thing is to see what they read and what your friends or acquaintances like.

I'm on Goodreads and it's a great literary social network. What's more: this week I am the # 1 best reviewer in Argentina, which makes me very happy. Vtra. page is not far behind either! It's excellent… Greetings!

Goodreads is a great social network for several reasons and the most important that I can see comments of books that I intend to read, find editions lost in the sea of editions, whether digital or physical. It allows me to make reviews and comments about what I have read and give it a maximum of 5 stars to those who have left me unread for a week once it is finished. Although I have few contacts, I am entertained by what the members read. It allows me to keep statistics and offers me a collection of works following the same genre of what I have read.
    Congratulations!!
