George RR Martin confirmed in his blog the news that many of us feared.

After various rumors and certain promises that did not convince anyone, finally the writer George RR Martin has confirmed what many of us feared: the next volume of A Song of Ice and Fire, titled Winds of Winter is not finished yet.

Y the sixth season of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO in April. . .

Pressure in Westeros

You are disappointed, and you are not the only one. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents, foreign editors, and translators are disappointed. . . but possibly no one is more disappointed than me.

With these words, the 67-year-old American author George RR Martin introduced his followers to bad news through his blog: the sixth volume of the saga A Song of Ice and Fire, titled Winds of Winter is not ready, despite having hundreds and hundreds of written sheets.

Thus, the new Game of Thrones printed story will have to wait, as the author claims that he does not cope well with "working under pressure." In another situation, this might not be such a big problem, however, and unlike the last five years in which each new book had been published years before the premiere of the next season of the HBO series, this 2016 will succeed the reverse.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones, the possibly most important series of the moment in the world, will arrive before the book in which it is inspired, unleashing the creativity of the scriptwriters and counting on certain passages from Winds of Winter as a slight reference point.

Faced with such a situation, Martin also revealed that, surely, this new round of the series will reveal spoilers of the book, like other certain passages would be reserved for the literary project, which has led him to mention that of "I have seen movies and I have read the book afterwards and it is totally enjoyable."

George RR Martin postpones the new Game of Thrones book again and thus the seventh book announced, Spring dream. We will check how the situation evolves during 2016 and if, definitely, the author decides to put the batteries.

What do you think of this bad news?

"... however, and unlike the last five years in which each new book arrived months before the premiere of the next season of the HBO series ..."
The first installment (Game of Thrones) will be twenty years old (1996) and the series premiered in 2011, the same year in which the last book to date was published, Dance of Dragons ... The series has been made, up to now, with the books on the table and with enough time to get to know him in detail. Educate yourself before saying these things, it costs very little.

On the other hand, very bad news for the saga, not because GRR has not finished the book, but because HBO dares to shoot without having published Winds of Winter. Respect the author, who is the cause of all this. A pity that the industry is once again above the artists.

Hello Manu, the age of five refers to the period since Game of Thrones was released as a series (April 2011), except that it is not well qualified with how much earlier the books were published, so it is true that in « months »should go« years », very true 😉 Thanks for the contribution.

Regarding the next point "The series has been made, until now, with the books on the table and with enough time to know it in detail", I think it is explained in the article, hence the news.

      Greetings and thanks again 😉
