Father's day. Books for everyone and everyone with a book

To celebrate the Father's Day we still have time to give them a good gift. And there are few better than a book, especially for parents who are more readers. Young, old, first-time or just waiting to debut, with half a dozen offspring, grandparents ... Anyway, for all the men who have given lives. Congratulations. And a special memory to those who have already left.

So we make a selection of titles for all tastes, characters and hobbies of our parents.

Because, as I have once said, there is always a book for a ripper. And parents of all colors and flavors. Light reading for the laziest or inspiring for entrepreneurs, handymen or kitchens. We have stories black for the toughest in the neighborhood but only on the outside, or romantic for those of heart with a tendency to melt. Also some history and travel, humor and mystery. Anything goes for reading.

Humour

Father, the last monkeyby Berto Romero

Book written by four parents: Berto Romero, Rafel Barceló, Oriol Jara and Roger Rubio. Ideal for those who are new to that great, unknown and new vital facet that is fatherhood.

I am your father!, Jorge Besterra

Essential manual for those geek parents who want to take their children to the Dark Side. And to know if you are on the right track, a geek test for the children is included.

Darth Vader and son and Darth Vader and his little princess

, by Jeffrey Brown.

To continue in a galaxy far far away. It was the 2013 Eisner Prize for the best humorous work and the two titles show us the more paternal side of Lord Vader. And there are very few fathers more famous than him in the known universe.

Harry Pater and the Philosopher's Diaper

, Joan Antoni Martin Pinol

For first-time parents written in a humorous way by this television screenwriter, comedian and stand-up comedian. A guide covering the three trimesters of pregnancy and the birth of the king (or queen) of the house and their first three months of life.

Cooking

Indie kitchen, by Mario Suárez and illustrator Ricardo Cavolo

For those kitchen parents who like to be up-to-date and surprise on the stove. The illustrated format of the book supports the original and simple way of teaching varied recipes. They even have their own soundtrack.

1080 cooking recipes, by Simone Ortega

Classic of classics for parents also more classic. It marked an era in the vast bibliography on cookbooks. Published more than 25 years ago and with about two million copies sold, it is a reference title.

Black

The cartelDon winslow

For parents hooked on Narcos, for example. But especially for those with tougher guts and fans of the subject. This mixture of thriller and crime novel has been and is a hit of the genre. It is difficult to distinguish the thread that separates reality from fiction in this story of the drug cartels in Mexico.

Historical

The light that you can't see de Anthony Doer

Extraordinary novel set in World War II and with a very beautiful portrait of the protagonist's father.

World War II told to skeptics, by Juan Eslava Galán

In addition to a review of the world conflict, it is about the narration of stories that are not in the most academic books: that of the German diver who sank his ship by flushing the toilet; the aviator who helped his wounded enemy find his way to the base; Hitler's possible homosexuality; the cunning of Stalin; Mussolini's four daily lovers; Franco's hesitations; Himmler and his SS looking for the Grail in Spain; the Spanish at the siege of Leningrad; orgies in the Führer's bunker; the Japanese who survived the two atomic bombs ... or the unlikely adventures of the cat from the battleship Bismarck.
