_The jungle of crystal_. John McClaine becomes comic (and verse).

I saw it two days ago and I loved it. Neither more nor less than John McClain, one of my greatest heroes. The jungle of crystal, the classic action film from 1988, the next one will be published October 17 in format comic via Amazon. But…

... it seems that only in English. We'll see if there is an edition in Spanish. They are 32 pages that are put on sale for 17 dollars, about $14. A gift to sign up for Christmas, although not especially aimed at the little ones, but the oldest in the house.

The authors

With script of the American comedian, writer and artist Doogie horner, illustrated by the dibujante JJ Harrison, who has worked for Disney, Nickelodeon, Peguin Ramdon House or Marvel. Harrison he has not spared violence or blood in his drawings, tracing scenes that unreservedly preserve the essence of the movie.

What adapts

The text adapts the very famous poem in the Anglo-Saxon world A visit of St. Nicholas, best known for his first verse (It was the night before christmas), attributed to the American poet Clement clarke moore and published in 1823. But of course, here is a fairly free version that narrates, in verse, everything that happened in the film.

It was the night before Christmas, when not a creature moved in the whole house, not even a mouse. The stockings hung carefully on the fireplace, hoping that Saint Nicholas would soon be there.

Children snuggle up comfortably in their beds, dreaming of candy dancing on their heads; and Mom with her scarf and I with my hat, we were getting ready for a long winter nap; when such an uproar arose in the meadow that I jumped out of bed to see what was happening […].

The film

¿Who has not seen The jungle of crystal? Who doesn't know cop John McClaine with the face and body of a Bruce Willis thirty-year-old? Who has not been seen in Los Angeles, riding a Christmas Eve, at the gates of Nakatomi Square? Who has not adored one of the best villains of cinema, the lousy Hans Gruber with the elegance of that magnificent English actor who was Alan Rickman?

Who hasn't had fun with it driver who gets locked in the underground parking lot? Or with the Agent Powell, their donuts and their great dialogues on the radio with McClaine in the thick of it? Or with the ineptitude and incompetence of the agents of the FBI? Who has not cut off the feet crossing the glass mess after the spectacular shooting on the top floor?

Well that. That almost better is a gift that we can give ourselves all the McClaines that we are in the world.
