Children's books to give this Christmas.

Children's books

The love of literature is one of the best gifts you can give a child. Of course whether they like it or not will depend on them. However there are books that every child should read.

To this day, and luckily, there is so much variety that it can be difficult to choose. In this post we present some essential books that should be present in any child's bookstore

For the little ones they cannot miss:

-Stories by phone scored by Gianni Rodari. An indispensable classic. Perhaps better suited for six-year-olds than three-year-olds. Strange and extravagant tales but very very funny.

-Where the monsters live by Maurice Sendak when we have the information. The tremendous Max is not that he falls too well, at least at first. Through his nocturnal adventure, Max will learn a lesson about evil. It did not have a good reception when it came out, but time has proved Sendak right. And this is a great book.

- The gluttonous little caterpillar by Eric Cale. One of the most sympathetic books for the little ones in the house. This book was already talked about in the post of 5 good books for the little ones, and that is why we reaffirm ourselves here. This caterpillar goes through the book in bites until it ends up turning into a butterfly.

Kids from 6 to 9 years old:

-Aesop's Fables. A book of fables is a must (as they would say in the world of fashion). You have to know them. They are perhaps one of the stories that are most passed down from generation to generation.

-Little Nicholas by René Goscinny and illustrations by Jean-Jacques Sempé. This is the first in a series of books, obviously starring little Nicolas and his trupe friends. Fun, simple and with characters that you quickly become fond of.

-Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. A special book. An entertaining and intriguing story. Truly colorful characters that help develop any child's imagination.

Kids from 9 to 12 years old:

-The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. This is a book that has made us all jump the tear, however the mixture of fantasy and reality make it more emotional. One of those books that are not forgotten. It is essential to read it before watching the film (although it is already somewhat outdated).

- Sweet Valley twins by Francine Pascale. A series of books focused specifically for girls. Classified in different ages, there is the infantile and juvenile version. The twins are growing and with them the girls too.

-Nightmares by RL Stine. For the more daring, perhaps pulling more for children of 11-12 years. Here the maturity of the child should be taken into account, but without a doubt it is a collection of books that, if they like the genre, they will enjoy a lot. Some of the highlights: "Scarecrows walk at midnight", "Sinister melody", Terrifying visit "

From 12 years:

- Harry Potter by JK Rowling. The series consists of eight novels. A fantasy world that hooks even adults

-Orson's Ender Game Scott Card. If you are a science fiction lover, this book is perfect. The best ... the outcome, of course.

-The second origin mechanoscript scored by Manuel de Pedrolo when we have the information. And again science fiction. A hit with the young audience. Through the book the protagonists learn about religion, cultures, sex, cultural diversity, all encompassed an essential book for any teenager.

We hope that the post has given you some ideas to give this Christmas. Happy reading!
