Entrecomics Comics is born

Well, after a few weeks of uncertainty about what could be Comics, today the website of the part Editorial of which it is possibly the national web of reference in the world of comics. And the truth is not born with one hand in front and the other behind, because you can already make the reservation of what will be the first launch, Moowiloo woomiloo, Nestor F. y paul h. who have already published said work online. Next I paste what would be the presentation in society that they do from the website of comics:

It has been almost six years now, turning our passion for comics into Entrecomics, writing reviews, interviewing authors, attending presentations and salons, trying never to lose the thread of current affairs. It has been and is an intense and demanding task, but also a bridge that has served us to take the pulse of comic readers and get to know the authors and publishers of our country a little more closely. Throughout this time, intermittently, an idea surfaced in our heads. What if we edited the authors we like ourselves? Until we finally decided to stop wondering and do it.

There have been three reasons that have convinced us to start our publishing career as Comics. In the first place, the need to undertake a new project that takes us away from routine and accommodation, a project in which we can put into practice some of the things learned throughout these years. Second, the determination to make a declaration of intent outside the information web, which we want to keep as aseptic and neutral as it has been up to now. On Comics We will publish the comics we like the way we like them, and we will let the editions speak for us about the way we see comics and its future. Third, the desire to play with formats, to open up the range of styles and themes, to get out of the market routines, to establish a close and fair relationship with authors. In short, to do different things while always respecting and encouraging the figure of the creator. In this sense, the editorial proposal Caramba! It has been a great help for us in establishing the sales and remuneration system for authors. Basically, we follow in their footsteps: we will promote the online sale of our books, dispensing with external distribution as much as possible, and we will imitate their payment system for authors, with a 50% distribution of the PVP between author and publisher once the investment in the printing press has been covered.

The response of the authors with whom we have contacted so far to nurture our catalog has been very positive and we are inclined to think that neither the project nor its particular sales and remuneration system is far-fetched. Although the last word, of course, they will have it, you will have it, the readers. In any case, there is already a firm commitment from both Comics as of the authors that we will cite below to launch the first four works in our catalog.

In May we will publish MOOWILOO WOOMILOO, a comic by Nestor F. y paul h. previously published online. It is a satire on the world of comics, impregnated with a very black and politically incorrect humor, where no one escapes without receiving tow, neither the authors, nor the critics nor the fans themselves. For the paper edition, some new stories have been made, and it has a foreword by Paco Alcázar and epilogue of Nacho Garcia.

After the summer, and in an order yet to be determined, the three remaining titles will appear. The first we can cite is VERSUS, louis busts, a free adaptation of a tale by Jack London whose format we hope will surprise and please. We don't really expect it: we know it. We also know that the work he prepares Pep brocal, ALTER AND WALTER OR THE INVISIBLE TRUTH, will put the author's name on everyone's lips again. We will see what a cartoonist in his category is capable of when he is offered total freedom in terms of subject matter, development and format. At the moment it promises fun, intrigue, excitement and ... a bit of terror. And finally, at the end of the year (maybe before, maybe after), Pablo Rios will debut with BLUE AND PALE, a graphic novel with a documentary tone about the world of abductees, UFOs and governmental and interplanetary conspiracies, a more personal comic than it seems at first glance.

These are our proposals. None of these four books is the same as the other, neither in tone, nor in style, nor in format, and it will be precisely this eclecticism that will define the editorial line of Comics. Because, after all, among those of us who like them, there is no author equal to another.
