The writer Rafael Sánchez Ferlosio was born in 1927 in the Italian town of Roma and he is the son of another famous writer such as Rafael Sánchez Mazas.

"Industrias y andanzas de Alfanhui" was his first book published in 1951, which however did not catapult him to fame, something he did achieve with the publication of "El Jarama"A highly praised book that gave him the opportunity, in addition to winning the coveted Nadal award in that year 1955. Later, his first novel did achieve the popularity it deserves and that it did not have at the time.

Later he disappeared for some time and he intercalated long years without publishing anything with the output of some of his works, among which the odd novels and even essays in which he analyzes the society of the moment stand out. What's more Rafael Sanchez Ferlosio He worked as a journalist, which allowed him to also bring to light "The Mouse Homily" which consists of a compilation of some of the articles that the writer published in various newspapers over the years.

Ferlosio has always been highly recognized and proof of this are the awards and distinctions that it has in its possession, among which the 2004 Cervantes Prize and the 2009 National Prize for Letters stand out.
