Antonio Noriega Vareal was born in 1869 in the Galician town of Mondoñedo and studied at a seminary. Despite having faced his life towards a religious vocation, Noriega ended up practicing as a teacher, a profession that led him to live in various places within his native Galicia.

Noriega took an active part in the agrarian struggle composing several poems about it and writing in favor of the cause in newspapers, which at one time brought him direct consequences in the personal and professional sphere.

Finally, Antonio Noriega Varela died in 1947 in Nursery, place where he spent the last stage of his life.
