Biography of Miguel Mihura

The writer and playwright Spanish Miguel Mihura was born in 1905 in the city of Madrid. In his beginnings, in addition to being a writer, he was a cartoonist and after the Civil War he founded the magazine "The Quail" in which humor arose from observing the incongruities of the time that the people of that time had lived within the country.

His works were highly applauded in life and both the critics and the general public always treated the novelties of this writer very well, filling the rooms at all the premieres and dedicating good words to his work. In addition to his solo works, michael mihura carried out collaborations with other writers, among which we can highlight Álvaro de Laiglesia.

In addition to critics and spectators, the institutions also showed their appreciation for Mihura's literary work by awarding him the National Theater Prize several times or making him become part of the Royal Spanish Academy, something that happened in 1976, just one year after his disappearance, since the famous author died in 1977 leaving us some of the most valuable theater pieces in all of our literature.
