  • ACTUALIDAD LITERATURA: Do you remember the first book you read? And the first story you wrote?

ANTONIO PÉREZ HENARES: Well, although it sounds strange, they gave me very young el Quijote. By Reyes. I still lived in my hometown, Bujalaro, and I read it then to a large extent; I liked parts and in others I lost myself and did not understand anything. I have read it after many times and each one I have appreciated more.

Y the first story what I wrote was Views from the Picachuelo. Described the harvest tasks imprinted on my childhood memories. I was second in the National Youth Narrative Award. I had 15 years.

  • AL: What was the first book that struck you and why?

PHA: The book of the virgin jungles, by Rudyard Kipling. I still have it on an altar. My previous dog, who died last year, was named Mowgli after him.

  • AL: Who is your favorite writer? You can choose more than one and from all eras.  

APH: I am very Cervantes. Galdós and Delibes to complete my Spanish podium.

  • AL: What character in a book would you have liked to meet and create?

PHA: naoh, the son of the Leopard, the protagonist of The fire war, of the Rosny. From my passion awarded by the prehistory.

  • AL: Any mania when it comes to writing or reading?

PHA: I read and write in gush, emotionally. If I do not feel that emotion, I neither read nor write. 

  • AL: And your preferred place and time to do it?

APH: Now my cabin of wood in the middle of the mountain, in the Juniper.

  • AL: What writer or book has influenced your work as an author?

APH: Many. Now same Juan Slav Galán and Arturo Perez-Reverte. 

  • AL: Your favorite genres besides historical?

APH: The old and good adventure novels and North American crime novel.

  • AL: What are you reading now? And writing?

APH: I am rereading some works by Claudio Sanchez Albornoz. And I write a book of test, very personal .

  • AL: How do you think the publishing scene is for as many authors as there are or want to publish?

APH: Post to paper I'm afraid it's going to get more difficult. But I always think that whoever really has something to tell ends up achieving it. 

  • AL: Is the moment of crisis that we are experiencing being difficult for you or will you be able to keep something positive for future novels?
