AniMangaWeb vs. Banzai Comics

The subject of the editorials of manga In Spain this one that sparks, there are already several that have joined the initiative to publish manga in our country, a closed preserve of greats who had this type of publications as one more editorial line within their multiple launches. Now many small publishers are emerging that are beginning to try to make a market niche. But that often leads to misunderstandings, and these misunderstandings to full-blown confrontations. That is what has happened between those of AniMangaWeb and the publisher Banzai Comics. Read the press release of the first and you will understand:

AniMangaWeb Mangazine was born more than a year ago with enthusiasm and promising a lot, especially due to the great reception of its first issue by the fans. The first magazine to deal with Manga from a more objective point of view has grown little by little, but it has never detached itself from certain “novice problems” in the editorial field, which are due in a certain way to the fact that it is edited by Banzai Comics.

There have been numerous problems that the magazine has caused due to a possible disastrous performance of the person interlocutor with the magazine's management, since its almost non-existent distribution, the delays, the changes in the quality of the edition without consultation or authorization and the pilgrimage endless number of printers, all with various "bad payer" excuses.

As of January 4, 2008, it comes to our knowledge that some of the printers employed by this publisher have had to resort to the credit insurance company Crédito Caución, that is, they do not want to pay them for the products already delivered, or even to certain agreements payment not excessively favorable for the printers in question.

We deduce, therefore, that the trajectory of this publisher, of the mistreatment of the consumer with its constant variation of qualities and published formats is related to our recent discovery. From this moment on, we want to make it clear that the OxigenStar group, with Jose Antonio Gómez and Julio Lleonart at the helm, is completely disassociating themselves from the Banzai Comics publishing house, since we do not want complaints towards the publisher by these companies and Consumers fall on a website and a magazine that so much time and effort has been invested.

The search has begun for an editorial alternative that will make it possible for the magazine to arrive, this time, on time and respecting format, paper, etc. .. To your Kiosks, homes (subscribers), etc. ..

For the knowledge of our readers, the AniMangaWeb Staff and its collaborators are the ones who write, assemble and prepare 100% of the magazine, being the responsibility of the publisher its printing and distribution throughout the country, which seems to be what has failed in the 6 numbers already published, causing delays, obsolete and surplus material, etc.

AniMangaWeb Mangazine has no intention of closing, but rather of becoming the manga magazine par excellence in Spain, but if the next issue is delayed too much, with a new publisher, the proportional part of all those subscribers who so require will be returned. assuming the costs derived from the OxigenStar Group, as it has been doing to date.

OxigenStar Group

And as always you have to give both versions, yesterday those of Banzai Comics they respond in their websites in this way:

Banzai Editorial wants to make it clear that, in no case, has it been their will to stop continuing to publish Animangaweb Magazine.
Banzai Editorail has always supported the extinct publication, giving its support both in the bad and in the good moments of the magazine, especially highlighting the very good relationship with the team that produced it so far. The investment made is large, assuming a great expense for the company, which preferred to support projects with enthusiasm rather than economic benefits.
Despite the large losses caused by the magazine, the publisher was still betting on it, even today (yesterday). And I was already waiting for the delivery of the new number of the publication, which was due to come out shortly.
However, and despite all the moral, technical and economic support made this long year, he has learned of the "transfer of relations" through the press and by third parties, without the magazine staff having contacted with Editorial Banzai.
From Editorial Banzai we want to convey our regret for the closure of the magazine, but above all for the null forms in the end of relations between both parties.
Finally, it only remains to wish the Animangaweb Magazine team luck in their new professional stage in another publishing house.
