The Galdakao City Council organizes the XIX Galdakao Comic Contest, with the following bases:
CONTESTANTS
People between the ages of 14 and 17 for the first category, and from 18 years for the second, may participate in the contest, being able to do it individually or a screenwriter and illustrator jointly.
SUBJECT, MODALITY AND FORMAT
Two modalities are established: comic and comic strip.
The subject will be free, but those works with violent, sexist, racist content or that promote intolerant behavior in any field will not be accepted.
The characters must be originals of their own creation and unpublished, the work not having been awarded in any other contest.
The works will be done in color or black and white, presenting the original work to the contest.
Comic
The works will consist of up to 4 pages in DIN A4 size suitably labeled in Basque or Spanish.
Comic strip
The works will be presented in 19x8cm size, or proportional measure, divided into two or more vignettes and suitably labeled in Basque or Spanish.
PRESENTATION
The works may not bear the name of the author in a visible way and will be presented in an envelope, without signature or name, on the outside of which will appear a title or motto, also indicating the category to which it is presented. Inside it will be accompanied another envelope with the same title or motto and category and that will contain a note with the personal data of the author or author: name, address, telephone number and age, as well as a photocopy of the DNI

The works may be presented at the Municipal Libraries of Usansolo and Torrezabal Kultur Etxea, in the Culture Area of the Galdakao City Council, or by mail at the following address:

JURY
A qualified jury will determine the best works.
The jury may declare the awards void, its decisions being unappealable for all purposes, being also empowered to resolve all incidents not provided for in this Call.
The verdict of the contest will be made before June 27.
The City Council reserves the right to publish the works.
EXPOSURE ASSESSMENT
Likewise, an exhibition of all or part of the work carried out may take place.
Once the exhibition is over, as of October 1, the non-winners will be able to withdraw their works or request their return by mail.

These prizes will be discounted 18% of personal income tax
The winners of the first prizes in each of the categories will not be able to access any of the second prizes.
Participation in this contest implies acceptance of all its conditions.
In everything not expressly provided for in this call, the Regulatory Ordinance of the Granting of Grants of the Galdakao City Council will be applicable, insofar as it is compatible with the special nature of these grants.
