CASA EOLO literary contest
1. THEME AND GENDER. The theme and genre will be free, accepting all kinds of works of a literary nature, in any modality, including comics.
2. CONTENT. The content will be free. However, the organization reserves the right to withdraw from the contest those works that, due to their content, are offensive or violate people's rights, incite racism, violence, discrimination for any reason or are in bad taste. This decision will be made unilaterally by the organization under its sole discretion and will be final. Anyone may report a work participating in the contest if they consider that it violates these principles and the organization will study whether it should be withdrawn.
3. NUMBER OF WORKS. Each participant may submit as many works as they wish.
4. PARTICIPATION. Participation in the contest will be made through the contest website.
5. LOAD OF THE WORKS. The works will be uploaded by the author on the contest website. To access it, you must register by the procedure established for that purpose.
6. FORMAT. The works will be uploaded in PDF format and the cover in the image formats indicated on the website.
7. AUTHORITY AND OWNERSHIP OF THE WORKS. The author acknowledges the originality and authorship of the works submitted to the contest and that he owns the rights to exploit them.
8. ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS. Participation in the contest implies the transfer of the rights of public communication, diffusion, edition and exploitation of the works, in a non-exclusive way.
9. PUBLICATION. All works received and accepted, except those that have been expressly rejected, will be published in a printed edition by the Editorial. Eolo House. The works may be edited individually or grouped in the way that the organization deems appropriate, taking into account criteria of theme, size, gender, etc ...
10. DURATION. The deadline for both submission of works and voting will be from December 15, 2010 until the 28 of February of 2011.
11. DYNAMICS OF THE CONTEST. The operation of the contest will be divided into two phases:
- Preselection. Throughout its duration, users registered on the website may cast one vote every hour.
- Finalists. Among the 50 most voted works, a jury will choose the best three.
To participate in the voting it will be necessary to register as a user, but it is not necessary to be an author.
12. AUTHORS AWARDS.
- All participating authors will receive a copy of the edited book in which their work appears.
WINNERS: The following prizes will be awarded to the winners:
* 1st prize: 1.000 euros
* 2nd prize: 800 euros
* 3nd prize: 500 euros
* Special prize: 500 euros. To the best work presented by an author with a disability. To be eligible for this option, the author must contact the organization at contest@casaeolo.com in order to send the appropriate supporting documentation.
* Special prize: 500 euros. To the best work that reflects a situation, problem or addresses the issue of disability from any perspective.
NOTE: In the event that two awards concur in the same work, only the one with the highest amount will be awarded, with the other going to the next best work in the category.
- The authors of the 5 works most voted by users will be presented with 10 copies of the book in which they are published.
- The 3 winners of the contest will be presented with 20 copies of the book in which their works appear.
13. PRIZES AND SPECIAL GIFTS. Among the participants, both authors and voters, various prizes or gifts will be raffled off. During the duration of the contest, new prizes or gifts may be added, which will be announced on the contest page.
14. JURY. For the selection of the final winners, a jury consisting of 5 members will be constituted.
15. DISSEMINATION AND PUBLICATION ON LINE OF THE WORKS. All the works submitted to the contest will be made available to the public for download over the Internet, free of charge, during the duration of the contest.
16. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS. Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of its bases, as well as the jury's decision, which will be final.
17. MODIFICATIONS AND CHANGES. Casa Eolo may modify the contest rules, during the duration of the contest, especially those referring to prizes, just by communicating it in the rules published on the website.
18. INTERPRETATION. Any doubt or interpretation about the operation of the contest will be resolved by the organization, who will make the appropriate decisions in an unappealable manner.
XXV Comic Contest «Noble Villa de Portugalete» 2011
2011 YOUNG CALAMONTE Contest
General Norms:
1.- All young people of Spanish nationality or young people with the official document of residents in Spain and with an age between 14 and 35 years old (completed on 31/12/11) may attend this contest.
2.- The works should be directed to the POPULAR UNIVERSITY "PELAYO MORENO" C / Doctor Marañón, nº 3 (06810) CALAMONTE (Badajoz), phone: 924323600, fax: 924323826, before 21:00 p.m. on March 17, 2011, specifying the modality in which it participates. They must be sent properly packaged in order to avoid possible damage during transport. Expenses
Shipping of the works will be borne by the participants.
3.- For each work presented, an envelope (plica) will be attached, in which the title of the work or motto must appear on the outside and within it the following information will be included: Name and surname of the author, photocopy of ID, age , address, telephone, e-mail and title of the work. The calling Council, if it deems it appropriate, may require a certificate of age from the authors
Specific Rules:
1.- This modality will be governed by the following specific bases, in addition to the general ones that do not contradict them.
2.- The topic will be free. Unpublished characters and script. In Spanish language. The works that have been awarded in other contests or contests may not be presented in this contest. Only the original work can be presented to the contest, which can be done in free technique (photocopies will not be accepted). The color used will also be free. The size of the pages will be DIN. Conveniently labeled A4 or A3. The number of pages may not exceed six. Contestants may not submit more than two works. The signed works will be grounds for disqualification.
3.- The works will be exhibited at the Casa de la Cultura de Calamonte on the date programmed by the organization, and cannot be withdrawn until one day after the end of the exhibition. The entity will inform of the scheduled date of the exhibition through its official website www.calamonte.org
4.- A first prize of 350 Euros and plaque will be awarded, a second prize of 250 Euros and plaque for the second classified. The special prize for the best Calamonteño will be endowed with 150 Euros and a plaque.
XII COMIC ACUP Contest 2011
La Palentina University Cultural Association announces the twelfth edition of its comic contest. The bases are the following:
1º .- All those people individually or in a group who are not professionals may participate.
2nd .- Works in any language will be accepted.
3rd .- The author / s grant / n permission for the publication of their work in GARABATO 2.0, digital comic magazine, as well as for the inclusion of subtitles in Spanish if the original language is not the cited one.
4th .- The minimum length will be 4 pages. There is no maximum extension.
5th .- The format in which the works must be presented is 1024 × 768 pixels with 72 pixels / inch. RAR and ZIP compression formats and JPG images are supported. The name of the file must include the title of the work.
6th .- The work will be sent to the email acup@acup.es, the title of the email being "COMIC ACUP 2011 Contest: and the title of the work".
7th .- The author / s must include in another attached file the following details of the contestant:
Title of the work.
Name of the author / s
Nationality.
Phone
Contact E-Mail.
8th .- Works already awarded in other competitions may not be presented.
9th .- The submission deadline will end on March 21, 2011.
10th .- The jury will be made up of 3 or 5 people. In no case, a member of the jury may participate in the contest.
11 .- The contest is endowed with a single prize of € 400. The jury reserves the right to declare the contest void.
12 .- Any doubt or question on the basis that arises will be resolved by the jury or, where appropriate, by the organization of the contest.
13th .- The jury's decision will be final.
