Quevedo's life was not ordinary. A genuine critic of his time, an expert swordsman and a luster in the art of the pen, he is undoubtedly one of our most enigmatic and charismatic authors. His arrests not only characterized him in life but, after death, his legend continued to grow. There is a story, not very well known, about his golden spurs and his theft, after previous desecration of his mortal remains, perpetrated by a deluded bullfighter who would pay dearly for such an unfortunate and despicable act.
