Veronica Roth rose to fame for a trilogy. Specifically, Divergent. Such was the success that in a short time they adapted it into a film, and that further enhanced the career of this American writer born in 1988. Of course, it was born to a German father, Edgar Roth, and an American mother, Bárbara Rydz (who also has Polish descent).
Su life was spent the first years in New York, but when his parents divorced, and his mother remarried, he lived in Illinois, in Barrington.
Since she was little she liked to write, and also to read. Her family was a great support for her since, when discovering that she had a talent for writing, they encouraged her to direct her efforts to improve and to get trained in it. So he enrolled at Northwestern University where he studied "Creative Writing."
She has a degree in that career and was also the trigger for writing her first book. At first it was just a rough draft, a place where he captured what he learned from his career while using it as a safeguard to relax from college jobs. The name of that book? Divergent. In fact, Veronica Roth claimed that the first time she came into "contact" with that story was on her trip to Minnesota, to college.
Obviously, he published it, and such was the success that in 2011 it was recognized in 15 countries. Therefore, he declared that it was a trilogy. Also 2011 was a great year for the writer as she married photographer Nelson Fitzh.
A year later he got a film production company, Summit Entertainment will notice that book, and sell the copyright for the film adaptation. That same year, already in 2012, he released the second part, Insurgente.

Divergent Trilogy
We start with the first books by Verónica Roth, and these are Divergente (2011), Insurgente (2012) and Leal (2013). They all told the story of Beatrice, a girl who, instead of having skills for one faction of her society, had them all. And that was a danger, even going so far as to be sentenced to death if they discovered her secret. Next to her, we have Cuatro, the companion of the protagonist.
The trilogy was a hit with dystopian books. In fact, it came out around the same time as The Hunger Games, which made its success even greater.
Short stories related to Divergent
After the completion of the Divergent trilogy, Verónica Roth continued to give some "gifts" to fans, and the result of this were the short stories that she produced. For instance, Four: a collection of the history of Divergent, in which he compiled five short stories that narrated parts of the life of Four, or his point of view of certain chapters of the original story. Of course, it was not too long, since it barely had 257 pages (compared to the trilogy, it was almost not a book of this one).

Duology Death Marks

The end and other beginnings: stories from the future
In 2019, faithful to the fact of releasing a book each year, the author published The End and Other Beginnings: Stories from the Future. It is a unique book (the first one he does) and that it consisted of short stories.
Duology We were chosen

hearken
Hearken is a short story that Veronica Roth collaborated on on the dystopian short story anthology Shards & Ashes. The plot revolves around a girl who gets a brain implant and can listen to the music of the dying in the middle of an apocalypse.
