Valencia comic for 2015

We already said it at the time. Valencia will have a comic event of similar proportions to the Barcelona Comic Fair, not in vain, the organization runs on behalf, among others, of ficomic. It will be called as you know Valencia comic (I quite like the name chosen) and yes, we will have to wait until the end of November next year to see how it opens its doors. Valencia comic. Comic and Illustration Fair will be held from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November 2015 at Feria Valencia. This festival is organized by Feria Valencia in collaboration with FICOMIC, the Associació d'Il.lustradors de València (APIV), the Gremi de Llibrers de València, the Valencian Comic Association (ASOVAL), Associació d'Editors del País Valencià ( AE). Tebeo Valencia will allow visitors to enjoy a great cultural and recreational offer, which includes exhibitions, workshops, meetings with authors and conferences, as well as the latest editorial news.

On November 27 to 29, 2015 Feria de Valencia will host the first edition of Tebeo Valencia, the Comic and Illustration Fair. A large-scale cultural event that starts with the aim of becoming one of the annual events in the comic and illustrated book sector and promoting the specialized publishing industry and its reading. It is a festival organized by Feria Valencia and coordinated by FICOMIC, the organizing entity of the Barcelona International Comic Fair and the Barcelona Manga Fair, in addition to promoting various initiatives to promote comics in various cultural and social spheres. The Honorary President of this first edition will be the Valencian cartoonist and illustrator Sento Llobell and will have the technical direction of Daniel Tomás.

With an ambitious and attractive program, the event will be interesting both to fans and to the general public. Tebeo Valencia will have a great variety of publishers, bookstores, associations and other companies related to the world of comics and illustration. A program of activities has been designed for all audiences, among which there will be signatures of national and foreign authors, exhibitions of original comic books and illustration with spectacular scenographies, comic workshops, professional meetings, recreational spaces, thematic children's spaces, round tables and conferences. Likewise, attendees and the show itself will benefit from the launch of the novelties of the Christmas campaign.

From Valencia to the world
The Valencian event joins the national offer of other specialized events, but with unique peculiarities. In the first place, it should be noted that Valencia has historically been the capital of comics and illustration, welcoming part of the industry and, especially, outstanding past and current authors. In this sense, it is important to highlight the will of this event to collect the witness of this Valencian history, present and future and turn it into one of its main axes. It also has another unique feature, since it is the first room of this size and philosophy, which explicitly opens the range to illustration. It is a contest that has a clear international vocation, which helps us to project our authors, entrepreneurs and companies in the sector abroad, and at the same time disseminate the latest trends in comics and illustration from other countries.

Feria Valencia is the organizer of the event with a history and experience of almost 100 years in the organization of Professional or Public Fairs, Events and Trade Shows. It should be noted that Feria Valencia is one of the most modern and versatile venues in Europe, with facilities perfectly prepared and equipped for practically any type of event. Likewise, its excellent location enables its direct connection to the city, both by public transport (Metro, Bus, Tram, Valenbici), and private (large indoor parking).

For its part, FICOMIC contributes its experience and commercial structure as the organizer of the Barcelona International Comic Fair and the Barcelona Manga Fair. The Barcelona comic contest is the most important event that takes place in Spain and the second in Europe due to the influx of visitors, participation of exhibiting companies, activities and impact on the media. FICOMIC responds to the initials of the Federació d'Institucions Professionals del Còmic, an entity created in 1988 and where the Guilds of Publishers, Booksellers and Distributors of Catalonia are represented. It is a non-profit federation whose purpose is the promotion of comics.
