«La Conquista», the comic that narrates the colonization of Mexico

The conquest

The arrival of Hernan Cortes in 1521 to Tenochtitlan and its colonization process reached the comic with «The Conquer«.

The comic is the sixth installment of the collection «New Minimal History of Mexico Illustrated«, Adaptation of the book«The New Minimal History of Mexico" edited by The College of Mexico (Colmex) In 2004.

The comic "The Conquest" is an adaptation of chapter 2 entitled "Colonial times until 1760" written by Bernardo Garcia Martinez which includes the years between 1519 and 1760, although this illustrated version only includes the events up to 1521, so it has not been ruled out that there is a continuation describing the following years.

The collection began in 2010 with the comics «Independence" Y "The revolution«, On the occasion of the bicentennial of both events, later they would arrive«Ancient mexico«,«From the empire to the triumph of the Reformation" Y "The Bourbon Reforms«.

At least two more publications are pending, which are already planned, "El Siglo XX" and "El Porfiriato."

"The conquest" features illustrations by Ricardo Pelaez and script of Francisco de la Mora y Rodrigo Santos and has 64 pages. Anne Maurer, editor of the project, has ensured that the project was carried out together with the historian author of the chapter "The colonial era until 1760" of the book "The New Minimum History of Mexico", to avoid inaccuracies or errors in clothing, places or other details .

En Mexico You can already buy it in any bookstore at a price of 180 pesos, equivalent to about 10 euros.
