«El Comics Collective to commemorate the sixteen years of its founding and to deliver in the XI Almería Comic Conference, in its work to help the creation of indigenous comics, decides to maintain, on an annual basis, a Prize for the creation of Comics.
1. Philosophy:
The purpose of this contest is to stimulate the creation of comic works and encourage the creative activity of new artists through the recognition, promotion, publication and subsequent dissemination of the awarded works.
2. Participants:
Participation is open to amateur artists from around the world, the only condition being that the script is written in the Spanish language.
You can participate individually or collectively (in the case of collective participation, the work presented will be classified within the category of the oldest participant), and the prize will be divided into aliquots to the participants.
3. Categories:
There are two categories:
Category A:
All those participants who do not exceed the age of 16 during 2008 will be part of this category.
Category B:
In this category, all those who are over 16 years old during 2008 will participate.
4. Topic:
The theme is free - as long as it does not violate human rights - and the characters must be original, of their own creation and unpublished.
The submitted work must be original and unpublished and cannot have been previously awarded in any other contest.
5. Format:
-The extension is 4 pages plus the cover.
-The works submitted must be made in black and white.
-They must be presented in vertical Din-A4 format on one side only.
-The technique is free as long as it can be perfectly reproduced if it is one of the winning works.
6. Delivery:
-A copy of the work will be presented on paper and another copy on digital support (CD, DVD ...) with a resolution of 150 pixels / inch
-The works must not be signed or show the name of the author and the pages must be correctly numbered.
-A sealed envelope will be attached with the participant's personal data inside (name, surname, age, address, telephone number and e-mail).
-Outside the envelope, each participant will write a pseudonym that will also be written behind each of the pages delivered.
-The delivery may be made by hand or by certified mail to the following address:

-The deadline for delivery is October 30, 2008. All works sent by mail whose postmark date does not exceed the deadline for delivery will be accepted.
7. Awards:
-Within each category there will be a winner and three finalists.
Category A:
The winner will have a cash prize of 400 Euros, plus a batch of publications from the De Tebeos collective, with a value equivalent to 100 Euros.
Each of the three finalists will have a batch of publications from the De Tebeos collective.
Category B:
The winner will receive a cash prize of 600 euros and a batch of publications from the collective De Tebeos, with a value equivalent to 200 euros.
Each of the three finalists will have a batch of publications from the Tebeos Collective.
Special Prize:
The IEA (Institute of Almeria Studies) will donate a batch of publications by authors and subjects from Almería to the best work to be seen on Almeria and the province; that is, the author of such origin.
8. Jury:
-The jury will be made up of relevant people, at the national level, from the world of comics and illustration, by the editor of De Tebeos and by a member of the Instituto de Estudios Almerienses (IEA), Department of Arts and Letters.
-The Jury's decisions are unappealable.
-The Jury may declare any of the prizes void if it sees fit and resolve all aspects not provided for in these bases at its discretion.
9. Observations: -Both the three winning works and the six finalists will be published by DeTebeos in a compilation volume.»
