This year the Myaku Association organizes another contest of comic as in 2008, and although the deadline to submit works ended tomorrow, it has been extended for another month, with which all of you who want to cheer up, have until May's 1 to be able to do it. Here are the rules of the contest:
After the success of the first MYAKU comic contest, we now present the second MYAKU Cultural Association comic contest.
The aim of this contest is to motivate the creation of works by new authors as well as their publication and distribution in the most notable events on the national scene within the world of comics. We still cannot offer a work contract but hey, who knows how far we can go in a short time!
Encourage everyone to participate and / or spread the word about the contest. At the end there are a couple of links to download the bases and the template that can be used to send the necessary data to enter the contest.
Here we present the bases:
1-All submitted works must be original.
2-The creation date will be indicated as well as if the works are unpublished or not, or if they have been published in any printed or digital medium before the presentation date. It must also be indicated if the characters used are part or are part of another work or series, past present or future.
3-The works presented can be individual or collective. If they are collective, the names of all the authors must be indicated.
4-The theme, genre and style will be free.
5-The size of each page will be 21 centimeters high by 14,85 centimeters wide (A5 format) and at a resolution of 300 dpi. The size can be different as long as it can be reduced or enlarged to the appropriate proportion with good quality and the comic does not lose content. If you have text, the text must be readable correctly at the indicated size. The minimum length will be 4 pages and the maximum 8.
6-The use of color will be positively valued. If color is used, it must be in CMYK format. If it has been done by computer, the work should be presented in a single layer.
7-The presentation of the work will be done by email to the address myaku.fanzine@gmail.com and under the subject “2nd COMIC MYAKU CONTEST”. Along with the work, in a document called Data in txt or word format. The following information will be included: name and surname, full postal address, email, telephone, year of birth, name of the work presented and experience (template available). There is no age or nationality limit.
8-The works must be delivered compressed together with the Data file in a file in zip or rar format. The name of this file will be the title of the work or if it is excessively long, an abbreviation of it.
9-The emails sent cannot exceed 9 megabytes in size. If the works occupy more than 9 megabytes, the created zip file will be divided into several parts, each one less than 9 megabytes in size. If this form of delivery is unfeasible, they can contact the association to request another form of delivery.
10-Prizes: there is a single prize of € 150. Once the contest has failed, the MYAKU Cultural Association will contact the winners to notify them of the delivery method.
11-In the case of collective works, the award will be given to one of the authors, who is a resident of Spain and chosen prior to the decision of the contest by them. It will be the responsibility of the authors of the collective works to decide how to divide the prizes.
12-The admission period will end on March 31, 2009 at midnight. The winner will be announced on the blog of the cultural association as well as in other media that the association deems necessary. TERM EXTENDED, NEW EXPIRATION DATE MAY 1
13-The jury will be made up of members of the MYAKU Cultural Association, who may request advice from professionals in the sector that they deem appropriate. The jury can declare one or more awards void.
14-The rights of the works presented will always belong to their authors.
15-The authors may not exploit the works presented or assign the rights to third parties before May 2010.
16-The MYAKU Cultural Association reserves the right to publish the works presented in part or in full in digital or printed media.
17-Participation in the contest implies acceptance of these bases.
