Participate in the XXIV José Nogales Short Stories Award

La Huelva Provincial Council (Andalusia, Spain) promotes every year the José Nogales Short Stories Award, and is currently open for participation. This call is open to all writers, both national and foreign, obviously excepting the winners in previous editions.

Award bases

  • All students may be submitted to the José Nogales International Short Story Award national and foreign writers who wish and comply with this call, except those winners who have already won in previous years.
  • Each writer may submit a maximum of three stories.
  • The author will assign the rights of the first edition of the awarded work to the convening entity (Diputación de Huelva), which may publish it in the way it deems appropriate, including the digital edition.
  • The stories will be from free theme and must be written in Spanish language; will be original, unpublished and not presented to any other contest pending resolution (with the same or different title).
  • The works they will be presented in triplicate, printed at double space (Times New Roman font, size 12) by single face. The extension will not exceed 15 pages in any case nor will it be less than 8, including in the shipment a cd / dvd with a digital copy of it.
  • Texts should be identified only by their title and with the lemchosen by the author, lacking signature or any other detail that could reveal the identity of the same.
  • A single prize of 6.000 euros for the winning text, subject to current tax legislation, although it may also be declared void.
  • The official award ceremony will take place around the second half of November 2017, will be attended by the winner of the award and will include the printed presentation of the winning story.
  • The jury will announce the name of the winner of the XXIV José Nogales International Short Story Award By the end of october of 2017, being its final ruling.
  • Applications will only be sent via postal delivery in the Huelva Provincial Council Culture Service, located in Iberoamerican Athletics Stadium. C / Honduras, s / n. 21007 Huelva, indicating on the envelope XXIV José Nogales International Short Story Award.
  • Requests may be sent until the September 30.

Each request that is sent must go as follows:

  • An envelope: That it will include a paper copy of the text, which will be identified only with its title and with the motto chosen by the author, lacking signature and name plus a cd / dvd with a digital copy of it.
  • Second envelope: It must contain Annex I, duly completed together with Annex II. Declaration of the author in which he / she ensures that the rights of the work presented are not compromised and that it is original, unpublished and has not been presented -with the same or different title- to any other contest pending resolution neither before nor during the selection process and until the moment of the jury's decision. A photocopy of the valid ID or passport will also be included in it.
