One of comprehensive comics, historical and new titles

Let's end July with one of comics. Today is the anniversary of the death of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and that title just came out about him. Review of classical, comprehensive editions y new releases from this mine of both creativity and gold. Mythical and historical authors and characters in a combination for all tastes. From superheroes a biographies in the form of a graphic novel. Of the eroticism of Milo Manara to the blackest 5th years of Philip Marlowe and John Blacksad. They are not all who are, but they are all who are.

Sin City (integral) - Frank Miller

Frank Miller is always good idea. For the summer and for any season of the year. And in one like this, so ugly, what difference does it make to return to that city of sin so violent and infernal that this American cartoonist, screenwriter and filmmaker devised. Here we find the first stories of this series which was adapted to the cinema, with great success, by Robert Rodriguez and with names of the stature of Bruce Willis, mickey rourke, Benicio, the bull o Jessica Alba.

Batman

Since I was born in 1939 in the pages of Detective Comics It has already rained, but also since then the story of Batman has reinterpreted in a thousand different ways and now we all have our own. In this luxury volume it is intended to tell it complete, but also with the many ways that he has had over time in comics, television, animation, movies, video games, and more.

This book also includes comments of people who have had to do in these different creations of their stories, such as Neal Adams, Tim Burton, Mark Hamill, Grant Morrison, Christopher Nolan, Denny O'Neil, Joel Schumacher or Zack snyder.

Spiderman and the Ghost Rider

The script put it Lee Wein and the drawings were of Ross Andru, Don Perlin and Glynis Wein. And I bring it here for purely sentimental reason and to be one of the «Incunabula jewels» from our childhood that my brother and I keep. Hard to get now more than from collectors sites. But any Spiderman comic can also be used to have a good time.

This particular album is on black and white and includes another cartoon, Spiderman and Dinosaur Man. I said, gold on cloth.

The winter of the cartoonist - Paco Roca

Paco Roca took the National Comic Award 2008 with Wrinkles and it marked a milestone in the Spanish graphic novel. And a few days ago he won the Eisner award for The House, as the best American edition of international material.

In this title he recreates how lives, jobs and the environment were in the mythical Bruguera publishing house for their most famous cartoonists. And what happened to them when they decided to leave it and found a magazine that would make them more free. That magazine was Uncle Alive and those names were those of Conti, Cifré, Escobar, Giner and Peñarroya, although there are also Vázquez, Víctor Mora, Ibanez o Raf, among others.

Los Borgia (integral) - Jodorowsky and Manara

Classic of classics for the hottest, most historical and fascinating summer in the company of the family Borgia. Milo Manara y Alejandro Jodorowsky They captured that fascination for their passionate story in these titles that make up a unique collection of a story where there is no shortage of morbid, incest, violence, sex and murder.

Stranger Things Six - Jody Houser, Edgar Salazar, Keith Champagne, Marissa Louise

Few titles are more successful these days than Stranger things, which continues it in its comic version. This is a prequel to the popular Netflix series, what is going to 1978. The stars Francine, 17 years old and with psychic powers, who is locked up in a laboratory in the town of Hawkins, where she is subjected to various tests by the doctor brenner and his team for a secret project called MK ULTRA.

Theboys (comprehensive) - Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson

Ideal to warm up engines until next September 4, when the second season of its television adaptation. Irreverent, delusional and full of humor, uncensored violence, this comprehensive edition is quite a gift.

Saint-Exupéry - P.-R. Saint-Dizier, C. Fernandez

This biography from the author of The Little Prince in the form of a graphic novel, it is sponsored by the Saint-Exupéry Foundation. Review your trajectory as a postal pilot, writer and journalist, and tells how he found the inspiration to write his first novels and the title that would give him eternal glory.

Philip Marlowe - The Little Sister michael lark

I top off this selection of comics with two pitch-black titles. This is the first: reinterpretation What does Lark do, cartoonist of the series Gotham Central, from one of the best known novels of Raymond Chandler with its great protagonist the private detective Philip Marlowe.

Blacksad (full) - Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido

And the second, an integral of one of the current and world comic masterpieces signed by two Spaniards. The 5 albums Of all the cases of that 50's detective cat named John Blacksad. Of true luxury.
