Eleanor Marie Robertson was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, on October 10, 1950. She was the only female among five siblings in a family highly prone to reading. In 1979, a storm inspired her to write her first novel, Irish Thoroughbred, published 1981 (appeared in Spanish as Irish fire, 2002). By the year of her second marriage - 1985, with Bruce Wilder - she had already accumulated more than 30 published novels.
