Nominations for the XXX Salon de Barcelona Awards

The nominees for the XXX Barcelona Comic Fair Awards have already been announced. The truth is that with the limitation to three categories, the analysis that can be made of each nomination by critics and the ordinary fan can be much more exhaustive. There has been a place for them to enter the shortlist of true jewels that were on the favorites lists: The Hero, Dublinés, The Wild Girl, The Atlas & Axis Saga. Others that arrive with the surprise band in quotation marks: Adventures of a Japanese office worker or The protector. And of course, the usual portion of Paco Roca, this time with Memories of a man in pajamas. I do not think that this year he will take it. It would be, in my opinion, an outrage. My favorites are The Hero and The Atlas & Axis Saga at 50%. In the foreign work section there is Arzak the watchman who may be the favorite if you want to pay tribute to Moebius on the occasion of his death, although my favorites are Habibi and above all Polina. As for the fanzines, since it could not enter as such Synonyms of Profit, the people of Thermozero are doing a great job and I would be happy if they took the award:

The prizes of 30 Barcelona International Comic Fair they are the ones that will have the largest total endowment in the history of the contest. The Salon Grand Prize and the award for Best Work by Spanish Author they have, respectively, 10.000 euros, while the award for Best Fanzine is 1.500 euros. In addition, thanks to the sponsorship of the Divina Pastora Foundation, Revelation Author Award it will be maintained with an endowment of 3.000 euros. The category for Best Work by Foreign Author continues without a cash prize.
All the awards add up to 24.500 euros compared to 20.400 last year. A rise of 20 percent. Despite the crisis, the Salon increases, with its own resources and with the collaboration of the Divina Pastora Foundation, its commitment to reward the talent of our authors.
