So it sure isn't surprising that I lose my objectivity when I talk about him. There they go my impressions of what is coming and what is missing.

The next one goes on sale October 11 and is the second independent novel after headhunters. It was published in 2014, so it was about time I got this way. What of the title translation I have already commented on it. Sometimes the editors' decisions to change the original are funny, which is up to an author, for who knows what criteria. In addition, with Nesbø until now they had respected their original titles. Anyway…
About
The protagonist is Sonny lofthus. He is in his thirties and has spent the last twelve years of his life in jail for crimes he did not commit. He's addicted to heroin since his father decided to commit suicide before he was singled out as a corrupt cop. Sonny got into trouble and ends up in jail.
There it becomes a kind of guru or confessor of other prisoners, but he is also the center of attention of many: the officials and the warden, the police, the lawyers… And they all want him to remain in prison. And above all, the most important crime lord in Oslo.
But one day one of the prisoners tells Sonny Something very important about his father's death. So Sonny decides that has to elope whatever. And he will do it in one of those episodes that seem impossible and are a trademark of the Nesbø house. Then just think about searching revenge at any price, from the underworld to high-ranking law enforcement, as well as further investigation into what actually happened. But they also persecute him. On their way they will cross simon kefas, a veteran cop who also knows more truths about Sonny, and the love of a girl that will help you.
What i found
Always misgivings of the most devoted and dedicated readers when that colossally successful author with a character series decides to change third and air with other stories. That's what happens with Nesbø. His Harry Hole is a creation so big and round that it has already transcended and that overshadows (and possibly will overshadow already, whether Nesbø wants it or not) anything else I write.
It happened with headhunters (change of narrative voice to the first person, story as original as particular, very different protagonist ...). And it has happened again with Macbeth, who has divided his faithful in conflicting opinions. It's understandable. But of course, Macbeth is Macbeth and Nesbø has not invented anything, she has only told it in her own way. This may happen again with The heir and those that are yet to be published, much shorter stories and also very different from the ones starring the chaotic Norwegian police.
I can only say that The heir I loved ithow i liked them headhunters, blood on snow y midnight sun. What seemed another to me great story in the style of the Nesbø house. With its twists, the humanity of his characters, convoluted of its plots and deep romanticism that underlies everything. Yes, Harry is not there, but it is not necessary. There is life beyond him, there are more stories. And they are worth it because they are from Nesbø.
Also, and as modestly I can speak from a writer's point of view, from time to time we need to change the chip, imagine new creatures and create new worlds. But it is also true that we can not always like and we can also disappoint. The question is that we assume it. And these established authors have it more than assumed. Of course, with this man I have it clear.
Knife
But okay, nobody worries. Yes, he returns, our most tremendous addiction, our own Jim Beam: Harry. And it will be with this Knife. Although, if they do the same as with the previous one, then the title will be The edge, The cut o The knife.
You are right. Last July Nesbø announced that the twelfth Harry Hole novel will be out on July 11, 2019. Apparently at the beginning we find a Harry waking up with a terrible hangover and blood covered hands and clothes. The trouble is served, although knowing Hole, we are no longer surprised that he gets into the worst. The issue, at this point, is to see how far Nesbø will go (again) after having made this creature go through so many atrocities.
The fact is that the novel will also bring back an old and deadly enemy of Harry. It seems incredible that he has any left after those he already has. But that devilish and deranged mind that distinguishes Nesbø will surely continue to create the worst for him. Although, as those of us who adore this hopelessly imperfect cop know well, his darkest opponent will always be himself.

Nothing, to wait and to continue reading Nesbø. Without misgivings, without fear of disappointment, without prejudice. In addition, it is the best to form the most appropriate opinion.
