II ZAMORA BOOK FAIR MICRORRELATE CONTEST 2015

  • Gender: Story
  • Prize:  € 200 for bookstores in Zamora, batch of books and publishing

Base

The works will have a free theme, written in Spanish and the phrase "book of my life" must appear in the body of the story.

Handwritten works will not be accepted.

The contest has 3 categories:

  • Children from 8 to 12 years old.
  • Young people from 13 to 17 years old.
  • Adults, from 18 years old.

La length of each micro-story will be 200 words maximum, title aside.

The works that are presented without observing these conditions will be disqualified by the jury.

Stories with spelling mistakes or those that violate the dignity of third parties or that contain offensive or rude comments will be automatically discarded. Literary quality will be valued.

The works must be original and unpublished and must not have been awarded in any other contest. The responsibility for potential plagiarism will correspond exclusively to the author of each story.

The authors of the awarded and selected micro-stories give the organizers the rights to publish them

In order to guarantee the confidentiality and anonymity of the works, the presentation of originals will be held at the Zamorana Association of Libraries (AZAL), located in Plaza de Alemania nº 1, from 10 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., from Monday through Friday, as follows:

The work will be included in a closed envelope, which we will call the main envelope on the outside of which must appear II Contest of Micro-stories Book Fair 2015, the category to which it is presented (Children, Youth or Adults) and the motto or pseudonym.

In another sealed envelope, the same information as the main envelope must appear on the outside. And inside, the personal data of the author (name, age, address and contact telephone number), as well as the authorization of the father, mother or guardian for minors will be included.

The person who collects the two envelopes at AZAL headquarters must verify the age of the author of each story, in order to include the two envelopes in the appropriate age category.

The organizers will appoint a jury, made up of booksellers and librarians, who will select the 30 best stories, 10 from each category and will designate the first prize in each category.

El jury ruling, which will be unappealable, will be announced at the opening of the Zamora Book Fair, in Plaza Viriato on Friday, May 29, 2015.

The 10 micro-stories selected from each of the 3 categories, 30 in total, will be published in a book that will be presented at the opening of the Fair, giving a copy to each of those selected, who will read their story before the public attending the opening.

The 3 prizes, one for each category, will receive € 200 to spend in the Zamora bookstores participating in the Fair and a batch of books. Those selected will receive a gift. The Zamorana Association of Libraries assumes all the prizes.

LITERARY COMPETITION EL FUNGIBLE 2015

Base

The Alcobendas City Council announces the "EL FUNGIBLE Literary Contest" with the aim of stimulating the literary creativity of Spanish-speaking authors around the world. It will be made up of two categories: XXIV Young Story Contest and VII Short Novel Contest.

They may attend the XXIV Young Story Contest all young people from 15 to 35 years old with original and unpublished works that have not been awarded, or published in whole or in part, previously. The author is responsible for the intellectual property of the work presented for the award and its authorship, as well as not being a copy or modification of someone else's work. Failure to comply with this basis will be the sole responsibility of the offender.

The works will be free theme, written in Spanish and with a minimum length of 3 and a maximum of 10 DIN A-4 size pages, double-spaced, with 11-point Arial font and written on one side.

  • Short Novel Participation:

    - All people over 18 years of age with original and unpublished works that have not been awarded, nor fully or partially published, may attend the VI Short Novel Contest. The author is responsible for the intellectual property of the work presented for the award and its authorship, as well as not being a copy or modification of someone else's work. Failure to comply with this basis will be the responsibility of the offender.

    - The works will be of free theme, written in Spanish and with a minimum length of 45 and a maximum of 90 pages, DIN A4 size, double-spaced, with 11-point Arial font and written on one side.

The works, which may not bear any signature or sign that reveals their origin, must be sent (in the case of sending by ordinary mail) stating on the outside of the envelope the modality for which it is competed: Story or Novel. The shipment must be accompanied by another sealed envelope, on the outside of which appears exclusively the title of the story and inside, the participant's data: name, surname, address, telephone number, ID, date of birth and email address.

Works can also be sent via email. In this case, it must be sent by means of a single copy of the work, in pdf format, in a message to the address elfungible@aytoalcobendas.org, in which "Subject" appears exclusively the modality and the title of the work. The participant must also send, and for each work, a graphic personal identification document, attaching a file, always in pdf, that will have as its name the word Plica plus the title of the work, and that will include the personal and contact information of the author: name, surname, date of birth, telephone and email address.

The author of the story or novel will be considered to be the person who appears as such, and only her. Texts written by more than one person will not be accepted, nor those in which a closed envelope is not attached (or, where appropriate, a pdf document with all identification data).
In the case of minors, a statement signed by their parents or guardians must be attached, indicating their personal data and authorizing the minor's participation in the contest.

The following prizes are established, which may not compete in the same person:

  • Best Short Story Award: 2.500 euros.
  • Best Novel Award: 9.000 euros.
  • Runner-up to the Finalist Story: 1.000 euros.
  • Second Prize to the Finalist Novel: 3.000 euros.

The prizes may be void.

The winning works, as well as the finalist work by category, will be published in a book published by the Alcobendas City Council. The authors of the same assign to the City Council, exclusively and with the power to assign to third parties, for the whole world and during the maximum established legal term, the rights of reproduction, distribution and translation into all languages ​​of the stories, in format of book, in any of the publishing modalities. The City Council may make as many editions as it decides, with a minimum of 1.000 and a maximum of 100.000 copies each. In the case of the winners and finalists, the amount of the prizes will be considered as compensation for the transfer of rights made and will be subject to the tax withholdings established by law.

The authors of the texts to be published are obliged to sign the appropriate publishing contract, which will include the widest possible exploitation of them, in the terms of these bases. If the contract is not signed for any circumstance, the content of these bases will be considered as a contract for the transfer of rights between the City Council and the authors.

A maximum of two works per author may be submitted. Winners of previous editions of the contest will not attend this contest.

The jury will be made up of two reputable writers. Its composition will not be made public until the same day the award is granted.

El jury ruling It will be final and will be made public in September 2015, reserving the organizing entity the right to modify that date at its convenience. Participants agree that their name and image will be used in publicity for this promotion.

Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of the jury's decisions, as well as its bases, the organizers reserving the right to interpret them.

LITERATURE CONTEST V CENTENARY SANTA TERESA DE JESÚS

The Catholic Universities of Ávila, San Pablo CEU, Cardenal Herrera CEU, Abat Oliba CEU, Universidad Católica de Valencia, Francisco de Vitoria and San Jorge de Zaragoza organize a Literature contest (poetry and story) on the occasion of the interuniversity congress "Santa Teresa de Jesus, Teacher of Life ”, which is celebrated on the occasion of the V Centenary of the birth of Saint Teresa of Jesus.

The papers must be inspired by one of the four thematic blocks of the congress.

1. You can participate any author of an original and unpublished writing and not submitted to any other award on the dates that coincide with this call. It is not an essential requirement that they are people / teams from the university environment.

2. The papers must be inspired by one of the four thematic blocks of the congress:

  •  Saint Teresa and the New Evangelization.
  • Unity of Life: Inner World.
  • Life Unit: Outside World.
  • Santa Teresa, Validity and Future Perspective.

The works must be written in spanish, or presented in their original language and translated into Spanish.

4. The works will be submitted to the competition in digital format (pdf, preferably) to the address of Email teacheroflife@gmail.com. The length of the works will be as follows: in the short story category, it will not exceed 10 pages with 1,5 line spacing and in Times New Roman font at 11 point size; In the poetry mode, the poem or set of poems will not exceed 200 verses, presented with 1,5 line spacing and in Times New Roman typeface in a size of 11 points.

5. The receipt deadline of the works will be on May 15, 2015.

6. The duly completed and signed registration form must be sent with the work. The registration form can be scanned and sent to the same e-mail address, as well as a sworn statement in which it is ensured that you are the holder of the authorship of the submitted work.

7. Participation in this contest will imply the transfer within the scope of the Congress of the broadcasting rights of the works submitted. In no case will the works received be returned, which will be deposited in the organization's archive.

8. A Selection Committee and a competent Jury will be in charge of selecting the winning works.

9. Both the Selection Committee and the Jury will be made up of relevant people and their decisions will be final.

10. The awards will be announced during the celebration of the Interuniversity Congress "Santa Teresa de Jesús: Teacher of Life". The Jury may award the following prizes:
