6 of the best four-legged literary friends

They are the best friends, the most faithful and loyal. They have been with us since the world is world. They accompany us in our adventures and misadventures, in our travels, dramas and joys, in everything. Inexplicably there are those who do not like them or are afraid of them. But who has not had dogs will never know what feelings they inspire.

Lord Byron preferred them to people. He was right. They can give you everything just by looking at you. Or ask you. And they certainly don't need to talk. They are unconditional to their master, in good and in bad, for the best and the worst. In reality and in fiction. Dogs also write pages and pages of unparalleled adventures. So, with the unconditional affection that I profess for them, today I write about some of those literary dogs. A memory also for those who have passed through my life.

Well let's see. I will start with the ancestors of all the dogs that are in the world, that is, the wolves. And I'll end up with a weakness.

Akela

The alpha male of the Seeonee herd, from The book of the jungleby Rudyard Kipling. Akela is the one who makes the decision to accept Mowgli as one more of yours. Also is the wisest and bravest wolf. And you are very sorry for his death in the battle of the Jaros Dogs.

Ghost

I fear that the millions of readers and followers of Game of Thrones skin me alive if I let it. So, of course. Impossible not to name the White Wolf of the famous Jon Snow. Intelligent and cunning, Ghost has that supernatural touch that permeates the famous saga of George RR Martin.

Jumble and Tim

Jumble and Tim are the dogs of my childhood, along with the one we had of flesh and blood. If you read the books on those covers, you are already my age. And more. But there is no age or new editions that change to Guillermo Brown and The five. Not his inseparable four-legged companions. Tireless and always up for adventure, Jumble and Tim are surely the dogs. that we all wanted to have children's.

We all went from the Outcasts once and we all went around unraveling mysteries with Jorge and his cousins. But we also knew that we had the watchful eye or warning bark of Jumble and Tim. They would put us on guard so as not to be discovered by our shenanigans, nor by the evil one on duty who was stalking us just as we were solving that mystery.

Buck

You can not miss the unforgettable protagonist of The call of the wild, Jack London. One of the most important canine characters in the history of literature. Yours is one of the the best  examples of all the doggy values that exist and that London knew how to describe in a masterful way. Anyone who does not like dogs should meet a Buck.

Bullseye (Accurate)

For the end, what was said, a weakness. Maybe for being the most anti-hero, mistreated and loser. And those are my favorite characters. I prefer its original name in English, more sonorous. And there it is with its owner in the header image of this article.

De Oliver, the 1968 musical. It is one of many film versions of Oliver Twist, the classic of Dickens. And, among others, it starred the great Oliver Reed, who was born precisely to embody the most disturbing, disturbing and evil characters. So he embroidered the cruel and ruthless Bill Sikes, one of my favorites of all the work of Dickens.

Sikes is always accompanied by Bullseye, a bull terrier white with a spot on the right eye. Bullseye is the perfect example that dogs can be like their masters at best and worst. And he's just as hateful as Sikes, but like all dogs, of total loyalty despite the continuous mistreatment that his master gives him. So much so that in the end he dies trying to save his life. And reading or watching the scene you always think that the one who deserves the worst death is Sikes, because I always want to save Bullseye.

In short, There are many more, but I leave it here. You also add those that occur.
