Joe Hill. The Kings are still the kings of terror

Joe hill is one of those authors who could only write horror novels. First, because you only have to see his face so that he reminds us of someone. And second because, indeed, that someone is his father, Stephen King. But the boy wanted to hide it when he started, because of the always obnoxious comparisons. Until, once he succeeds himself, he no longer cares about it being known.

Joseph Hillstrom-King has inherited the terror poisoned blood and he has also carved out a great career as a writer bestseller of a genre that always attracts. That shadow of his father It's too big? Well, there are tastes for everyone. And those who like to have a hard time, that there are two geniuses from the same family or they can hook the same, well better than better. There it goes a review of some of his books.

Joe hill

I came to Joe Hill one summer. You go on vacation and you want evasion reading. I had already debuted with The suit of the dead, 2007, and, although I have already counted several times that I'm not of the horror genre, I usually read something from time to time. So I took the pocket edition to the beach. And I like. Also I had a bad time, of course, and he did not know yet that he was the son of Stephen King, of whom I have not read anything but evidently I have seen some of the thousand adaptations of their stories.

Hill goes the same way, both in bestsellers and in versions of his books for the cinema. The scariest supernatural is combined with good storylines that catch and they read well, perhaps without throwing rockets in terms of style or narrative quality, let's say. He has also worked on the genre of story with Ghosts and that of comic, with Locke & Key. There are several titles already, but I review these three.

Some books

The suit of the dead

His novel by debut, tells the story of Jude Coyne, a retired rock star. He lives in a mansion only with his manager and a girlfriend much younger than him. And it is collector of objects related to supernatural. That hobby will lead him to bid on a ghost in an online auction and, a few days later, he receives a strange box in the shape of a heart containing the suit of the dead man. And of course, that ghost, Craddock, it won't take long to appear. First, in a very subtle way but soon it will become very threatening. When his manager commits suicide, Coyne and his girlfriend decide to flee to save their lives. But it won't be easy at all.

Horns

Was his second novel and in it the protagonist is a man that one day he wakes up very hungover after a night of partying. With horror, he discovers that on the forehead devilish horns have come out and that, in addition, a power supernatural allows you read thoughts most unspeakable of others.

Fuego

Hill raises a stage almost apocalyptic where a plague of unknown origin has spread everywhere. Doctors call it "Trichophyton draco incendia," and to the rest of the world it is the Dragon's scalea spore that marks the skin of the infected with black and gold spots before making them burst into flames. And there is no cure or antidote.

The protagonist is Harper Grayson and she's a nurse. She is married, works in a hospital and treats sick people whom she sees burning almost constantly. When she is infected, she becomes pregnant and her husband makes a drastic decision, Harper decides that he wants to live and runs away. But he also knows John Rookwood, a supposed firefighter that, despite being infected too, does not burn and has learned to light and use fire as a shield for the victims and a weapon against those who want to exterminate the infected. The two will coincide in a kind of hidden camp where the sick take refuge.
