International literary competitions in April

Like yesterday I brought you an article with some national literary competitions, today I bring you a similar entry but this time with international literary competitions in April.

If you want to participate in any of them, read the bases, dates, etc. I leave you with the information.

I International Poetry Book Contest «Fernando Charry Lara» 2015 (Colombia)

  • Genre: Poetry
  • Prize: $ 9.000.000 or its equivalent in dollars and edition
  • Open to: no restrictions
  • Organizing entity: Department of Humanities and Letters
  • Country of the convening entity: Colombia
  • Closing date: 09/04/15 (you still have time!)

Authors of any nationality can participate with books written in Spanish, unpublished (no more than five poems may have been published), free theme, with a minimum of 800 lines, double-spaced, in Word, arial 12 type.
Contestants must send the book by email in two files: in one, the book, with a pseudonym, and, in another, the personal data (identification document, telephone numbers, postal and electronic address, bio-bibliographic data). You can only send one book per author.

Books must be sent to the email address mbaqueror@ucentral.edu.co.

  • Jury decision and award ceremony in public ceremony: May 2, 2015
  • Launch of the winning book in a public event: August 4, 2015

Second Poetry Contest in Decimas 2015 (Uruguay)

  • Genre: Poetry
  • Award: Medal
  • Open to: residents of Argentina and Uruguay
  • Organizing entity: Grupo Decimero Rioplatense
  • Country of the convening entity: Uruguay
  • Closing date: 10/04/15

The mode of the contest is poetry in tenths, with a minimum length of 30 verses (Lines) and a maximum of 60. The works can be sent by mail to certamendecimeros@yahoo.com in two files. In one the author's data and in another the work signed with a pseudonym.

They can also be sent to Avellaneda 495 CP 7100 DOLORES Argentina or Artigas 154, CP27.000 Rocha, Uruguay. There will be three awards (medals) and the mentions that the jury considers. The deadline for submitting papers will expire on April 10, 2015 (the deadline ends tomorrow).

Gibraltar Editions Youth Collection Award (Mexico)

  • Gender: Children and youth
  • Prize: $ 10.000 and edition
  • Open to: everyone can participate
  • Organizing entity: Ediciones Gibraltar
  • Country of the convening entity: Mexico
  • Closing date: 10/04/15

Writings can be sent in Spanish that are adaptations of classic works of public domain of universal literature, whose extension will be between 10 and 15 pages, DIN A4 size (210 x 297 mm), clearly typed double-spaced in Times New Roman, 12 points.

They can be emailed to editionsgibraltar@gmx.com Attached in Word format (Extension .doc / .docx) in two files: "Work" and "Escrow" where the name of the author, address and contact telephone number will appear.

The Jury will make the decision public, unappealable, in the second fortnight of May 2015.

Comic Contest

 Comics and Cartoon Contest - Gender Equality: Imagine it! (Belgium)

  • Genre: Comic
  • Prize: 1 euros and trip to Brussels
  • Open to: people between 18 and 28 years old, who are residents of an EU Member State
  • Convening entity: UN Women, together with the European Commission, the Belgian Development Cooperation and the United Nations Regional Information Center for Western Europe (UNRIC)
  • Country of the convening entity: Belgium
  • Closing date: 20/04/15

Awards:

  1. A first prize: 1 euros.
  2. A second prize: 500 euros.
  3. Three third prizes: 200 euros each.

The five finalists will be invited to attend the Contest awards ceremony in Brussels at the Summer 2015. Travel and accommodation expenses will be borne by the organizing entities. In addition, the drawings of the finalists and semi-finalists will be published in a brochure and consideration may be given to display or republish them.

These contests are okay, right? I personally like the last one a lot, mainly because of the theme and the motto. If I could participate, I would not hesitate. Participates!
