Estela Sánchez — Interview

  • ACTUALIDAD LITERATURA: The title of your latest book is Goodbye past, we will meet again. What do you tell us about it and where did the idea come from?

ESTELA SANCHEZ: Goodbye past, we will meet again is a second chance story. Can, after many years, love arise again where there once was? Are we still the same as fifteen years ago or has time passed changed us? But not only that, it also tells us how Naza, its protagonist, she feels trapped in her town, so much so that it hides behind a pseudonym to do your dream job.

In this novel I wanted to reflect how, often, social pressure can influence our decisions and if in the end we rebel against her, how difficult it is to accept that we are different and that nothing happens.

  • AL: Can you remember any of your first readings? And the first story you wrote?

ES: The books of Enid blyton I think they opened up a new world for me. They gave them to me for Christmas and every year I eagerly waited for new copies.

The first story I wrote, I was about eight or nine years old, was a story where our dana kitty was the protagonist. It was a story full of adventure and very endearing.

  • AL: A head writer? You can choose more than one and from all eras.

EN: Jane austen,Nora Roberts and mary Higging Clarks.

  • AL: What character in a book would you have liked to meet and create?

EN: I was very impressed by the character of Antonia scott en Red Queen, by Juan Gomez Jurado. I found it very complex at the same time as simple and interesting. I really enjoyed its counterpoints as well as the story.

  • AL: Any special habits or habits when it comes to writing or reading?

EN: I love to listen soundtrack lists, however, if the scene has a specific song, I loop it until I finish it. I also use a notebook with each project, I need to have something handy to write ideas, scenes and keywords.

  • AL: And your preferred place and time to do it?

EN: In my room I have my desk and that is where I feel most comfortable writing. Regarding when, my creative moment is in the morning, For this reason, I usually get up early enough to sit down to write or when required at that point in the project.

  • AL: Are there other genres that you like?

EN: In addition to the romantic novel, I love the thriller and Novelty. In fact, when I am immersed in a project I prefer to read another type of genre to avoid "contaminating myself".

  • AL: What are you reading now? And writing?

ES: It depends on my state of mind, I usually read one genre or another, and right now I have three open fronts: An end to start by Anne Arrieta, snow girl, by Javier Castillo and Many lives, many teachers, by Brian Weiss.

Regarding my current project, I have in hand a story that reflects the role of women in the world of technology. Until now, the professions of all my protagonists have been related to "women's" professions and I wanted to give a new focus and give greater visibility to this sector.

  • AL: How do you think the publishing scene is and what decided you to try to publish?

EN: In my opinion andIt is quite positive that there are so many alternatives when it comes to publishingIn fact, my first two novels are self-published and the last two I published with publishers that, at the same time, are different from each other.

As prompted me to post, especially, Operation 3.0, upgrade or die trying, my first novel, was that I was satisfied with the result. When I started writing it, I did it for myself, and when I finished it I thought I had nothing to lose by self-publishing it. Without a doubt, that was one of the most difficult decisions I have made as a writer, and without that first time I doubt very much that I would have dared with the rest.

  • AL: Is the moment of crisis that we are experiencing being difficult for you or will you be able to keep something positive for future stories?

EN: There are always positive things to stay with. Looking back there is never anything perfect and lMoments of crisis give you the opportunity to explore another part of you that opens you up to new emotions and that is an unquestionable help when facing new projects.
