La Gijón Black Week It begins today with the approval of Saint Fermin. Will be your thirtieth edition, will take place on the grounds of the former shipyard Naval Gijón and will continue until the Day 16. This prestigious literary week in the beautiful Asturian city is more than consolidated in the national cultural scene.

So once again it meets again the best of the genre with the most renowned national and foreign authors. What's more, activities such as award ceremonies, lectures and debates, musical performances, presentations… We take a look at everything that will happen.

Themes

Although the adjective of the week prevails as its essence, there are many more topics that will be touched on in debates and activities. From the environment, ecology and climate change going through the analysis of the Justice in the crime novel written in Spanish, until the science fiction, boobs and historical novel.

The interpretation and treatment of the Francoism or the centenary of the Russian Revolution. And of course more social issues, from claiming rights or the problem of refugees. Neither will be lacking poetry nor comic.

Writers

It would be impossible to make a list of so many invited names. Among many other representatives of the national panorama we have Manuel Jabois, Montero Glez, Pair Fernandez, José Luis Muñoz, Ignatius from the valley, Rose Huntsman or Juan Bowl.

From Latin America they could not be absent either and so will authors such as Vladimir FernandezTatiana goransky, Fernando López, or Lucio Ludicello.

This year France brings Sophie Henaff, the latest French publishing phenomenon that mixes suspense and comedy in titles such as Death Note o Anne Capestan's Brigade. And how to get the Nordic fee: from Sweden will Cecilia Ekbak, which has been very successful with its mixture of black genre with historical novel. Author of The longest winter comes to Spain for the first time to present his new work, The dark light of the midnight sun. And his neighbor the Norwegian Geir tangen, the most famous blogger of the genre in his country and who has launched with his first novel The executor.

Nor can Asturian authors such as Julio Rodríguez, David López or Felicidad Martínez. And also from the digital world such as, for example, David Zaplana and Ana Ballabriga with their winning novel of the third novel contest indie from last year, No scotch is true.

Homenaje

Jorge Martinez Reverte the creator of Detective Galvez, is the honored writer this year. His novels are being reissued, highly recommended in these times of remembrance to the Transition for what they tell and show of that moment.
