Literature for bad days

Literature for bad days

Who else and who less has the occasional bad day over time (I wish it was only one, right?). Therefore, taking advantage of the fact that it is the weekend, that we have more time to read, to think, to rest and relax, I leave you with these two writings by two greats of literature: Walt Whitman y Pablo Neruda. Each one in their own style but with a common message: live, live and live.

If you have a bad day, for whatever reason, read these two writings. I promise that after reading it, you will feel a little better and start to see things from another perspective. Because there is literature for bad days. Because reading can be a great therapy against discouragement.

"Don't Stop" by Walt Whitman

Don't let the day end without having grown a little,
without having been happy, without having increased your dreams.
Do not be overcome by discouragement.

Do not allow anyone to take away the right to express yourself,
which is almost a must.

Do not give up the urge to make your life something extraordinary.
Don't stop believing that words and poetry
they can change the world.

No matter what our essence is intact.
We are beings full of passion.
Life is desert and oasis.

It knocks us down, it hurts us,
teaches us,
makes us protagonists
of our own history.
Although the wind blows against,

the powerful work continues:
You can contribute with one stanza.
Never stop dreaming,
because in dreams man is free.

Do not fall into the worst of mistakes:
the silence.
The majority lives in a scary silence.
Do not resign yourself.
Flees.
"I emit my screams through the roofs of this world",
says the poet.

Appreciates the beauty of simple things.
You can make beautiful poetry about little things,
but we cannot row against ourselves.
That transforms life into hell.

Enjoy the panic it causes you
have life ahead.
Live it intensely,
without mediocrity.
Think that in you is the future
and face the task with pride and without fear.

Learn from those who can teach you.
The experiences of those who preceded us
of our "dead poets",
help you walk through life
Today's society is us:
The "living poets".

Don't let life pass you by without you living it ...

"Do not blame anyone" by Pablo Neruda

Never complain about anyone or anything
Because fundamentally
You have done what you wanted in your life.
Accept the difficulty of edifying yourself
And the courage to start correcting yourself.
The true man triumph
It rises from the ashes of its error.

Never complain about your loneliness or your luck
Face it with courage and accept it.
In one way or another it is the result of your actions
And it proves that you always have to win.

Don't be bitter about your own failure
Do not charge it to another.
Accept now or you will continue
Justifying yourself like a child.
Remember that any time
it's good to start
and that none is so terrible to give up.
Do not forget that the cause of your present is your past;
just as the cause of your future will be your present

Learn from the bold, from the strong;
Of those who do not accept situations,
Who will live in spite of everything.
Think less about your problems
And more in your work
and the solutions will come to meet you by themselves.

Learn to be born from pain
And to be bigger
than the greatest of obstacles
Look in the mirror of yourself and you will be free and strong
And you will stop being a puppet of circumstances
Because you yourself are the architect of your destiny.

Get up and look at the sun in the morning
And breathe the light of dawn.
You are part of the power of life.
Now wake up, fight, walk, make up your mind
And so you will succeed in life;
Never think about luck, because luck is
the pretext of the failures.

What do you think of these texts? Do you think, as I do, that literature can "save" you in certain situations? Do you have any other text to help you and want to share? Happy weekend!
