As you well know, as a writing fan, I think a lot especially about those readers who also write, especially those who have to self-publish (for whatever reasons). Every month I offer you two articles on literary contests and contests, one of a national nature (Spain) and the other of an international nature. But until yesterday I did not echo this proposal that they offer us from Editorial Bubok y Rag tongue.
Both have come together to co-edit the VIII Prize for Literary Creation Bubok-Lengua de Trapo, Which aims to discover and support new talents on the Spanish-language literary scene. Next, I briefly explain the bases and I leave you the links to both the two publishers and the complete bases of the award.
Bases to participate
All those who are eligible for the Bubok Prize for Literary Creation prose works, written in Castilian, that meet the following requirements:
- Not having an ISBN assigned (except if the ISBN is Bubok's).
- Be published in Bubok (With the exception of the winning works in the previous calls).
- All the authors over fourteen years old (accompanying the work of an authorization signed by their parents or guardians if they are minors), regardless of their country of residence, as long as their works meet the requirements established in these bases.
- The works must have a minimum length of 50 pages (any format, font size 12 and "1,5 spacing.").
- El prize will consist of the edition of the work and its publication in paper and digital format. Likewise, both formats will have their corresponding distribution in the national and international market. The presentation of the award implies by the author the acceptance of the conditions of contract and publication of Bubok, as well as the transfer of the rights of promotion and exploitation to Bubok and Lengua de Trapo for the edition, publication and commercialization of the same through a traditional publishing contract, the specifications of which will be determined once the winning work has been selected.
- Prizes will be awarded by vote of a jury composed of accredited names in literature, which will be chosen by Lengua de Rapo and Bubok.
- In no case, the award may be shared by two works, and must be awarded entirely to a single title. The jury reserves the right to declare the award void.
- The originals of the works must be sent on paper to Bubok in triplicate, either through the platform that will be enabled for the contest (for which the shipping costs will be free) or by ordinary mail (only works received before the end of the contest will be accepted, regardless of the date of shipment ). In the case of a pseudonym, the author must provide their contact details in their file. During the duration of the contest, all the works that participate, duly identified, will be available to the public through the Bubok website.
- Works by ordinary mail that are not properly bound, are handwritten, are not legible or are not accompanied by the author's data will not be accepted: Bubok user, full name, contact telephone number and address.
- El Deadline for the admission of originals ends on March 15, 2016.
- The presentation of the award implies the acceptance of its bases. Any conflict will be resolved by Bubok and Lengua de Trapo.
- The publisher will not correspond with the originals submitted. Non-winning originals will be destroyed and therefore will not be returned.
- The winner authorizes the use of his name and image for advertising purposes and agrees to personally participate in the presentation and promotion of his work in those events that the publisher deems appropriate.
