  1. Who can participate? Any writer from 9 years old who presents original and unpublished works in Spanish can participate.
  2. What kinds of poetry can participate? They must be original and unpublished, the theme is free as well as: rhyme and meter, in Spanish.
  3. Contestants will present a maximum of three poems or poetic compositions.
  4. La extension  It will be one page on one side (DIN-4) to computer with a minimum font size of 12 and font 'Arial ' o 'Times New Roman '.
  5. Deadlines: The deadline for the presentation of poems is open and will end on January 8, 2016.

City of Cáceres International Journalism Award

  • Gender:  Journalism
  • Prize:  15.000 euros and commemorative plaque
  • Open to: journalists from the European Union
  • Organizing entity: Mercedes Calles and Carlos Ballestero Foundation

  • Deadline: 09/01/2016

Base

  1. All journalists, communicators and writers who submit an article or report may participate that has been published from January 1 to December 31, 2015 in print media, published anywhere in the European Union.
  2. The Prize will be awarded to the best quality work presented that contributes to disseminating any aspect or issue related to the city of Cáceres, which highlights any of its social, human, cultural, artistic or monumental values.
  3. A single prize of 15.000 euros, subject to tax regulations, and commemorative plaque, which will be delivered to the author of the selected work in a public act.
  4. The works must be presented either by their own author or by any person or entity that accredits their consent, and the original and six copies of the full pages of the newspaper or magazine that published them must be sent, in which the date can be seen. thereof. In addition, the title, name of the medium and the date of publication will be specified separately. Each author may submit a maximum of two articles or reports. The works may be written or narrated in any of the official languages ​​of the European Union, and must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish if this is not the one used in the original.
  5. The works must be signed by their author or pseudonym. In the case of this second case, the personality of the author must be accredited with a certificate from the medium that published it.
  6. El term limits for the presentation of the works will be the January 9, 2016, sending them to the President of the Mercedes Calles Foundation and Carlos Ballestero, with address at Plaza de San Jorge number 2, 10003 Cáceres.
  7. The Jury, chaired by the president of the Foundation or a person delegated, will be made up of the president of the Association of Journalists of Cáceres and relevant personalities from journalism, communication, culture and society. The Jury will be assisted in its deliberations by a secretary belonging to the Foundation with voice and without vote.
  8. El Judgment will be issued by the Jury in the second half of January 2016 and the award will be delivered during an event to be held in Cáceres in the first fortnight of February 2016. The awarding of the award will be personal and non-transferable and if this requirement is not met in person, your resignation will be understood, except Force majeure at the discretion of the Jury. The winner will undertake to be a member of the Jury in the next edition of the award if required by its organization.
  9. The MCCB Foundation reserves the right to reproduce the works presented.

XIV National Short Story Contest San Juan Bosco

Base

  1. They are established three categories: child, 8 to 12 years old. Juvenile, from 13 to 17 years old. Adults, from 18 years old.
  2. The works must be original and unpublished, not awarded, written in Spanish, in folio format (Din A-4), double-spaced and single-sided. Extension: Children, a maximum of 8 pages. Juvenile, a minimum of 5 pages and a maximum of 15 pages. Adults, a minimum of 5 pages and a maximum of 15 pages, in triplicate.
  3. Free theme.
  4. The works They will be presented in triplicate and without any identification. In a separate, closed envelope, the name, surname, address, telephone number and ID of the author will appear, indicating the title of the work on the outside. The works will be delivered in the halls of the AA.AA. Don Bosco until 22 p.m. on January 11, 2016.
  5. Those people who have previously been awarded, in the same modality, in the last two editions in any of the three categories, will not be eligible for the first prize.

VIII Novel Contest "City of Almería"

Base

  1. Any writer may participate in this contest, provided that the works presented are texts written in Spanish language and unpublished originals that have not previously been awarded in any other contest.
  2. The works will be presented through the escrow procedure, without signature or data that can identify the author in the novel, and in a separate, sealed envelope, the address will be included with the personal data, brief curriculum of the author and photocopy of the DNI or NIE. The pseudonym used and the title of the work will be stated on the cover of the novel and on the outside of the escrow. The originals will be presented printed on paper and duly bound - one copy - as well as a copy on computer support (essential). The works will have an extension not less than 180 pages nor more than 500, typed in space and a half on one side, on DIN A-4 size paper, font size 12, with the reference "VIII City of Almería Novel Contest". They should be sent to Juan Jesús Gilabert, C / San José Obrero 53, Postal Code 04005 Almería (Spain).
    In order to be able to evaluate all the works in their context, it is advisable to send them as soon as possible in order to meet the reading and evaluation deadlines. Each author may submit a maximum of two novels  using different pseudonyms.
  3. The Novel Prize "City of Almería" will consist of two awards: Winner and finalist. The endowment of the prize for the Winner will be € 3000 (75% in cash and the rest destined to the edition of 300 copies for distribution or delivery to the winner) and for the Finalist € 1000, (50% in cash and the rest destined to the edition of 150 copies for distribution or delivery to the finalist). The prizes will be paid as an advance for the copyright that the exploitation of the novel could generate.
  4. The publication of the works will be done in continuous edition and their sale will be carried out both in the traditional distribution channels and online through the Aldevara Editorial website, as well as stores online such as El Corte Inglés, Amazón, etc., with the consequent profit margin for authors of 10%, in accordance with the contract that they must sign with Editorial Aldevara.
  5. The Editorial Aldevara and the Balbín Paris Cultural Association reserve the option of publishing the originals that, not having reached the Prize, they deem of interest, after agreement with the authors.
  6. El admission period of originals will begin on November 9 of the current year and will end on January 12, 2016. The Prize will be awarded in May-June 2016, notifying the winner and finalist personally as well as the release of the rest of the novels for presentation to other contests . Later it will be published on the Web and the media. The award ceremony It will be held at a social event to be held in the city of Almería in the summer of 2016, with the organizers reserving the right to modify these dates due to calendar adjustments. The prizes will be delivered to the award-winning authors, who must receive it personally.
  7. The originals They will be presented accompanied by a handwritten certification from the author., guaranteeing that the rights of the work are not compromised and do not suppose any plagiarism, as well as that it has not been submitted to another contest pending resolution. In the case of works presented under a pseudonym, said certification must be signed with it and will never be included in the envelope of the escrow. If the work is the winner, the Francisco Javier Balbín Paris Cultural Association will reveal the names and surnames of the author in all the performances that derive from said condition.
  8. The winning work will remain in property of the Balbín Paris Cultural Association and of the Aldevara Publishing House which will proceed to its publication stating that it is the “VIII City of Almería Novel Prize”.
  9. El background theme of the novel shall include any literary genre, valuing in a special way the narrative, plot and enjoyable reading. Works that induce violence, xenophobia, animal abuse and other uses contrary to human rights will be automatically disqualified.
  10. This edition of the contest is dedicated in memory of Francisco Calvache.

XII National Short Story Award Alhaurín de la Torre

  1. The Department of Culture of the Alhaurín de la Torre City Council announces the "XII National Short Story Award Alhaurín de la Torre". They may present themselves, writers of any nationality, provided that the works are written in Spanish language, original, unpublished and they have not been previously awarded or are pending resolution in other contests. Winners of previous editions will not be able to participate.
  2. The stories that are submitted to the Award must attach a closed envelope containing a signed document with all personal data (complete identification, address, telephone number, e-mail of the contestant and title of the story) and pseudonym of the author abroad.
  3. The works will have an ex maximum tension of ten pages, double-spaced and single-sided, with a font size 12 'Times New Roman'; with its numbered pages and without stapling or binding.   4. You can only present one work per author.
  5. This Award will have a only winner who will receive the amount of € 1.800 and it cannot be declared void.
  6. This Award is announced annually. The period for admission of originals will begin on November 16, 2015 and end on January 15, 2015. The jury's decision will be communicated by telephone to the winner and will be announced publicly, at www.culturalh.com and various media, on April 18, 2016. The award will be presented within the commemorative events of the Month of the Book in April-May 2015, reserving the organizing entity the right to modify these dates.
  7. The winner will have the obligation to personally attend the delivery ceremony. The organization will assume the lodging expenses for one night if the winner is from outside the province of Malaga.
  8. The Jury will be made up of relevant people from the cultural and literary world of Alhaurín de la Torre, appointed by the Department of Culture.
  9. The payment of the Prize implies the knowledge and acceptance of the author, of the transfer of the publication rights to the Hon. Alhaurín de la Torre City Council, organizer of the Contest, and will be subject to current legal regulations.
