February national literary competitions

One more month we offer you the list of national literary competitions (Spain), on this occasion those that are closed throughout the February month. As we always tell you in these articles, stay tuned tomorrow because international ones (outside of Spain) will be published for those readers who follow us from abroad.

In the requirements and bases of the call to participate or not in the contests they always state for which people these contests are "open". The fact that it is done in Spain or abroad is not always decisive when it comes to participating in them. Therefore, we remind you of the importance of looking at the bases.

II LITERARY COMPETITION "UNIVERSE OF LOVE AND / OR LOVE LETTERS"

• Gender:  Paper
• Award: Stay
• Open to:  from 16 years of age
• Organizing entity: Municipal Library of Almedinilla
• Country of the convening entity: Spain
• Closing date: 11/02/2016

Base

• People from 16 years of age inclusive and of any nationality may participate, as long as the work is written in Spanish.

• The theme will be love and / or heartbreak. A single letter per participant may be submitted, written in prose, no longer than three pages typed on one side and on a computer, using the 12-point Arial font and single spacing.

• The works must be unpublished and not awarded in other contests.

• They will be delivered in a sealed envelope, in whose return address will only appear the pseudonym of the contestant, enclosing another envelope with their personal data: pseudonym, title of the work, name and surname, age, full address, telephone number and ID. The shipping address will be that of the Almedinilla City Council: C / Plaza de la Constitución, 1. (14812). Almedinilla (Córdoba).

• Those who wish to do so may personally deliver their writings to the Almedinilla City Council Office, from 9:00 a.m. to 15:00 p.m., or to the Municipal Library, located in the House of Culture, from 17:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. XNUMX:XNUMX hours.

• To facilitate the comfort of the participant, the works may be delivered via the Internet, to any of the following two email addresses: infoalmedinilla@gmail.com The subject of the email will be "II Literary Contest love and / or heartbreak". The work will be sent in two attachments: one with the letter (the pseudonym will be included at the end of it); and the other file will contain the personal data of the author.

• Will be awarded three awards:
  - First prize: One night stay for two at Hospedería "La Era"
  - Second prize: Dinner in a restaurant in Almedinilla (to choose).
  - Third prize: Two tickets for a flamenco evening that will take place at the Casa de la Cultura on February 27, 2016.

• Deadline for submission: it will end on February 11, 2016 at 20:00 p.m.

• The jury will be made up of people linked to the field of Almedinilla culture. In the event that no local work is the winner, the jury will have an Access Award for Best Local Work. The jury's decision will be final.

• The winners will be called by phone to inform them of the jury's decision and the date and time of delivery of the award. On the other hand, the name of the participants and the title of the winning works will be announced on the Facebook of the Municipal Library of Almedinilla.

V THE GOOD PRESS AWARDS

• Gender:   Journalism
• Award: Diploma
• Open to:  no restrictions
• Organizing entity: labuenaprensa
• Country of the convening entity: Spain

Base

• You can submit any text in Spanish published in 2015 on paper or digital. The awards are open to the media around the world.

• Seven categories are planned. There are two special categories: 1. Best report
  2. Best interview
  3. Better analysis
  4. Best chronicle
  5. Better coverage done planned
  6. Better coverage for unforeseen events
  7. Best series
  8. José Antonio Vidal-Quadras Award. Pays tribute to this journalist and professor at FCOM, who died on August 27, 2014. The "most complete" journalist will receive the award based on the work submitted. 9. Paco Sancho Award. Pays tribute to this journalist and FCOM professor, who died on November 24, 2015. The award will be received by the report or chronicle prepared by a journalist under 25 years of age.

• In each category there will be a winner and two finalists. Some awards may be declared void. The award consists of the delivery of a diploma. They can send pages or Internet addresses both individuals and the medium as an institution. In both cases, candidates do not have to pay for their participation. Candidates can submit as many texts as they wish. And do it to one or more categories. The pages will be sent in PDF format.

• The jury will be made up of people with recognized professional backgrounds. For this fifth edition of the La Buena Prensa awards, candidates can send their work until February 14 to Miguel Ángel Jimeno (txe.majblog@gmail.com)

XVI SHORT NARRATIVE COMPETITION «VILLA DE TORRECAMPO»

• Gender:  Story
• Prize: 3.000 euros
• Open to:  no restrictions
• Organizing entity: Torrecampo City Council, Córdoba Provincial Council, PRASA Sociocultural and Sports Charitable Association and Ntra. Sra. De las Veredas Brotherhood
• Country of the convening entity: Spain
• Closing date: 19/02/2016

Base

• The works must be original and unpublished, not awarded in another contest, written in Spanish, with a maximum length of 20 pages (DIN A 4), double-spaced and single-sided, in Times New Roman typeface, of size 12. Each writer may only submit one original.

• The works will be signed with a pseudonym. A closed envelope will be attached, on the outside of which only the chosen pseudonym and the title of the work will appear. Its interior must contain the name, surname, address and telephone number of the author.

• El theme es spirit.

• They will be presented in five copies, until February 19, 2.016 at the following address: Torrecampo Town Hall. Plaza Jesús, nº 19. 14410 Torrecampo (Córdoba). Works received after that date will not be accepted, not even with a previous postal certificate. Additional submission on DVD or CD is mandatory.

• A single prize of 3.000 euros to the winner, subject to the retention that the Law expresses. The winner of a previous edition will not be able to participate.

• The award decision will be made public on April 18, 2.016. The awards ceremony will take place during a public event on April 30, 2016. The attendance of the winner is mandatory for this event.

• The composition of the jury will be made public at the time of issuing the ruling, which will be irrevocable. The jury may declare the award void if it deems it appropriate. In the event of a tie, the criteria of the previous selection committee will be taken into account in order to choose a single winner.

• The awarded work will not remain in the power of the convening entities, which will only be empowered to disseminate it referred to in the following paragraph. A book will be published with the award-winning work and those finalist works that the convening entities deem appropriate. The organization will notify the selected writers, within one month of the ruling and at the address indicated in the escrow, that their work will be included in the book, of which only one edition may be made. A winning or finalist work cannot be withdrawn from the book edition. Said works will not remain the property of the convening entities, and their authors may freely dispose of them except as provided in these bases.

• The non-winners cannot be removed by their authors and will be destroyed.

• If any of the works presented is awarded in another contest, the author must inform the Organization, who will immediately remove it from the list.

• Participation implies full acceptance of the rules.

XNUMXth HOUSE OF ANDALUSIA PARLA POETRY COMPETITION

• Gender:  Poetry
• Prize: € 300 and plaque
• Open to:  older
• Organizing entity: Andalusian House in Parla
• Country of the convening entity: Spain
• Closing date: 19/02/2016

Base

• People of legal age who present their works in Spanish may participate, and the winners of the previous edition cannot present themselves.

• The poems will have a free theme, must be unpublished and not subject to the ruling of another literary award.

• The length will be a maximum of 50 verses and a minimum of 14, typed on one side in folio size. They will be delivered in triplicate.
• Each author may present a maximum of three works, and no more than one award may be awarded to them. If this happens, the prize will go to the next highest scoring participant.
• The deadline for submission will be Friday, February 19, 2016.

• The works will be delivered or sent by ORDINARY MAIL, in BIG ENVELOPE and WITHOUT SENDING to the following address: XI Poetry Contest of the Casa de Andalucía, C. / Reyes Católicos, 81. CP 28982 Parla.

• The poems will be signed with a pseudonym. If more than one work is submitted, they will all be signed with the same pseudonym and will be sent in the same envelope. Inside a small and closed envelope will be the name and surname, address, telephone, e-mail, photocopy of ID or passport, pseudonym of the author and title or motto of the work.

• Endowments:
  1st Prize: € 300 and plaque

  3st Prize: € 100 and plaque

• The jury's decision will be final.

• The awards will be delivered on Sunday, March 6 at 19:30 p.m. at the Casa Andalucía Theater (located in the same venue), during the act of tribute to poetry at the Closing of the XXXII Cultural Days on the occasion of Andalusia Day.

• Participation in this contest presupposes full acceptance of the bases that comprise it.
